Scientists have created powerful painkillers from the venom of snails, it has been revealed.
The substances, based on a tiny protein found in cone snails venom, could be more effective than morphine.
They may one day lead to the development of a drug to treat severe and chronic nerve pain.

That’s some improvement. Now instead of the druggies busting down the door to get the widescreen, they’ll be digging up the garden to get the snails.
This article is lacking in info. and old news to a certain degree. Studies and experimentation have been going on for a decade. The real news is not so much as to the power, but how it works. It, actually, blocks the pain receptor sites, is non-addictive (no high), body doesn’t build tolerance nor have withdrawal, and there are signs it can replace anesthesia in some procedures.
Good to see this coming to market. I first read about the initial research back in the late 1990s.
