Theory: Terrorists kidnapped Zaharie's wife and kids, coercing him to steal the plane

Well, what do you think, FReepers? I know the speculation is exhaustive but I've not seen nor heard any information regarding MH-370 pilot Zaharaie Shah's wife and children other than them reportedly moving out one day prior to the day of the flight. I think this could be a key clue in the plane's disappearance, hence my theory.

Wouldn't photos and video of his wife be plastered throughout the media?.. and interviews? Where's the interviews?

I heard yesterday that supposed rumor about the family moving out isn’t true, but who knows anything at this point..since Im not familiar with cargo holds, would the pilots know in advance what is in those cargo holds?

Do those chips contain any secret information or are they just chips...like memory chips?

Was the IBM VP working on military contracts?

I dont know anything about this, but I doubt that these employees had any access to information on secret US military weapons.

I suspect that making chips and knowing how they are used is something else.

I know our government is totally incompetent in many ways, but turning vital security information over to Malaysians who are on their way to China?

Why don’t we just give them the football?

Wow, that article was like smelling salts. Very compelling. Hadn't occurred to me just how valuable a 'score' that lot of employees would be. The flight was headed to China, but maybe China decided to acquire those employees 'off the books'.

The plot thickens.. There are 2 Ukrainians and 1 Russian aboard. Oh how Putin would also love to steal those employees from the U.S. Suddenly, landing in Kazakhstan isn't such a far-fetched possibility.

Here is what I found.

Family of missing Malaysia plane's captain moved out of home day before flight left

A maid at Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah's house in upmarket Kuala Lumpur suburb said that his wife and three children were staying at their second home when the plane disappeared.

Their home in Malaysia's capital is just 15 miles from the airport.

Various details seem suspicious, but so did details about Richard Jewel until it was established that he was innocent. For all we know, the pilot’s wife and child went to visit relatives, perhaps precisely because he was going to be away.

I certainly think it’s a possibility. If the pilot was going about his normal day, why would the wife take the kids and disappear?

My thread is silly. Now I'm wondering if the batch of 20 FreeScale employees accounts for why the aircraft was stolen. That would be a huge coup for Putin, and there's 2 Ukrainians and 1 Russian on board. These 3 plus 20 U.S. defense-sensitive employees all going to China. WTF.

Maybe Snowden wasn't a big enough gift from Barry to Putin?

You would think the media would be trying to get some quotes from the family

Don't forget that the "media" in Malaysia is run by the state, very much in the business of disinformation and coverups.

No it isn't ... This was on the table at FR a week or more ago.

I’m still somewhat at a loss that China has been pretty quiet through all this, given that most of the passengers were Chinese.

Whoever did it, and for whatever reasons - the plane is in the ocean.

OK, but there should be a lot of foreign media there as well. They must be salivating at the chance to get a “first”.

Theory. Armed US satellite can fry electronics from space. A message was being sent to China and Russia to knock off the expansionism talk.

Really? You think Obama is that tough???

They haven't been. Its just that the US media feels its not important, so you don't hear about it. China is increasingly upset with Malaysia's handling of it, and the two have been exchanging diplomatic barbs. In the Chinese blogosphere, regular citizens are really venting their anger with Malaysia. China allows it, because it is patriotic, and makes the Chinese Gov't look good by comparison.

Yes, interesting that the Chinese are silent. But then, it’s the Chinese way; they can be very subtle and very effective.

I’d like to know what they know.
