lawsuit accusing her superior of making a fake 'Wanted' posted with her photo and threatening to take away her dog if she refused him
Tanisha Ross-Paige is expected to take home $3million, minus legal fees Lawsuit filed in 2012 claimed Sgt Steven Gori made a 'wanted' poster that read: 'Subject wanted for having the baddest body in the St. Louis area' Gori allegedly asked the married Ross-Paige to sit on his lap and go skinny-dipping in his hot tub When the officer's dog was retired, it was given to a groundskeeper rather than to her
A former St Louis police officer has been awarded a $7.5million judgement after claiming in a lawsuit that her superior sexually harassed her and she suffered retaliation for complaining.
Tanisha Ross-Paige, a one-time canine officer, won $300,000 in compensatory damages and $7.2 million in punitive damages from the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners Friday in what has been described as possibly the highest verdict in such a case in Missouris history.
However, the jury sided with the police board on a discrimination claim.
It's absolutely huge for this type of case, said John Eccher, one of the lawyers who represented Ross-Paige.
He said he had asked jurors to send a message with a verdict that was high enough that everyone will take notice that retaliation and discrimination in the workplace ends today.
Ryan Paulus, another of Ross-Paige's lawyers, estimated that his client would eventually take home about $3million, minus legal fees.
The lawyers added that the legal maximum could grow if the police board appeals the ruling.

-—Where do I go to get harassed like this!!!!!?????? 3 million dollars worth!!!
—— I demand to see the racial composition of this OJ jury
The meatstick who allegedly harassed her .... was he in on the deal? What's his cut of the action??
Tanisha won the lottery. Her pursuer looks like a wangsta sleaze, a hip-hop Pussy Bonpensiero.
Poor taxpayers. Who is running this joint?
$7.5M - $3M = $4.5M; $3M - legal fees = her take home pay. Where does that other $4.5M go?
Looks like out of 7.5, she gets 1-1.5M? Seems like something besides the initial award amount is screwy here.
Look at the pics at the link. This guy has issues, serious issues.
Article indicates she was a canine officer.
I’m not sure which end of the leash she was on.
The officer (left) and her dog.
I assume after awarding her $7.5M, they awarded him $60 to cover an eye exam.
Nice dog.
I don’t think the taxpayers should pay 7.5 Mil for the handler. I think the harasser should pay what he’s got or is capable of earning—who knows what, maybe 100k—but out of his pocket.
“...Ross-Paige joined the force in 2005 and the canine unit in 2008. She filed her lawsuit on December 22, 2011.
Then on January 4, 2012, she was injured by another canine officer’s dog during a training exercise, lawyers said, permanently disabling her.
Her lawyers said she moved to Baltimore fearing further retaliation and has separated from her husband....”

******
Jeez, she does 8 years on the force and ends up leaving with a “disability” pension, millions of dollars in jury awards (no doubt using typical “stick-it-to-the-man” St Louis jurors) and without her husband. Look out Baltimore, she’s coming your way.
Awards like this are idiotic; for a harassment claim why not cap it at (net) twice the expected earnings from that job until age 65? Sure, she wouldn’t be able to work there anymore (maybe) but that does not mean she can’t ever work again!
We need some serious tort reform; and maybe we need to bar lawyers from making political contributions. Ok, yes that is extreme but it is a big part of the problem.
Well, the dog (right), is a very nice looking German Shepherd ...Sable to be specific..
bttt!
Reminds me of Tenny Pierce in California — a firefighter who got $1.5 million for being fed a couple bites of dog food after he screamed “racism!’
The LA City Council agreed and offered up a $2.7 settlement, eventually reducing it to $1.5 million.
Geez, pass the Alpo or make up a wanted poster of me and my dog...PLEASE, I’d like to retire!!
LOL!!!!
Nice dog you got there, Dennis Rodman.
