A married former Washington Post vice president has been found dead in a gay bar in Manhattan with drug paraphernalia near his body.
Guyon Knight was found dead around 8am on Saturday in a bar called the Out in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York.
The New York Post reported the circumstances of the 64-year-old's death, saying that he was seen with a needle, a pipe and unspecified pills near his body.
The club where Knight was found describes itself as being gay-but-straight friendly, but a person familiar with the bar told MailOnline that it is mostly frequented by gay patrons.
'It would be pretty darn strange to see and old straight guy partying in there,' the source said.
The 42nd Street location, where Mr Knight was found at around 8am on Saturday, has a bar, a spa and hotel rooms.

A former vice president of The Washington Post was found dead on the floor at a Hells Kitchen hot spot, surrounded by a needle, a pipe and pills, sources said.
Guyon Knight, 64, who served as vice president for corporate communications, collapsed around 8 a.m., Saturday outside a room where a party was being held at the Out, according to the sources.
The venue, on West 42nd Street, boasts a gay-but-straight-friendly spa, hotel and clubs.
Cops and medics responded after a 911 caller reported a man unconscious, possibly due to drug use.
Sounds like a set-up. The medical examiner will no doubt wait 5-days to do an autopsy.
Meaning: we don't care what comes out of the glory-hole. Its all good!
Why does “married” lead the headline description? If he was married to a woman, are the presstitutes trying to denigrate natural marriage?
Just remember, NEWSPAPERS KILL!
Guyon and his wife, Linda, have a son who lives in Detroit.
I’m ignorant of the gay scene, but, this gay bar had hotel rooms? Is it common for a bar to have hotel rooms?
“Guyon and his wife, Linda, have a son...”
So did Rev. Gene Robinson.
Hell’s bacteria-frappe hot tub?
He’s ‘Out’ alright.
Some people wonder why the news media seems obsessed with homosexuality.
A certain type of bar and hotel rooms that charge by the hour, yes.
Crap like this explains a LOT in re. the Compost’s editorial slant. Gotta wonder how many OTHER druggies and fags inhabit the Compost’s ranks.
Yes its unusual. They typically just go out back to the alley.
wages paid in full.
With a name like Guyon, of course he was gay!
It’s a little too convenient, almost cliche. Dead with a bunch of paraphenalia around him in a bar? I call BS.
Hmm, this sounds like a scene out of John Ross’s “Unintended Consequences”... are we sure Henry Bowman and the “Wrecking Crew” hasn’t started the 4th Generation warfare on media types?
Drugs and perverted sex on 42nd Street? Say it ain’t so!
Sad. I don’t know anything about this man, but from the story, it seems to me that drugs - easily available in gay environments - were his big problem.
Sounds like the former SEALS found dead on the Marsk.
Would that include dragging his dead body into the homosexual bar then propping him up wherever he was found?
We have to demystify the orgasm. Really folks, it can be compared to a sneeze: the build-up, the build-up, the build-up, and then... ACHOO! Big frickin’ deal. People throw their lives and marriages away for the equivalent of a sneeze. And the drugs? Yippee! Wow, I feel really spacey. This is great!
Sex and drugs as the focal point of life is just a bunch of shite!
Only the upscale ones do, the rest just offer the bathrooms for free.........
These days he could be married to multiple other guys.
Considerate addicts get rid of their needles and crackpipes as the overdose kills them. Just shows what jerks journalists are.
it is more common for hotels to have bars and/or night clubs...
“Im ignorant of the gay scene, but, this gay bar had hotel rooms? Is it common for a bar to have hotel rooms?”
I lived in Queens, NY in the 70s. The gay scene was rampant. Then the male homosexual bars in NYC had what they called ‘back rooms’ I believe they still do.
Men would go back there and have sex in the dark with any of the patrons of the back room. It was all the rage, they were often drunk and on drugs. The numbers back there would exceed those up in the front of the bar.
Most of us in NY knew all about it, is was so common a practice amongst the gay men. They bragged about it. It was their weekend obsession.
I’m sure that the hotel rooms are now an extension of those days.
Btw, at that time there was no ‘aids’...it was not discovered as yet, but it was brewing.
The M. O. is B. I. Bedderson. He is in Missouri too.
You don’t know anything about this man, yet you believe the scene is accurate.
How many secrets about the White House do you think this ex-Washington Post executive knew?
The fact that he was gay bothers me not.
The fact that he worked for such a sleazy organization makes me wonder about his morals.
“ex-Washington Post executive found dead at a gay hot spot with a pipe and needle”
None of this raises even the slightest bit of surprise within me?
No. It means that he was invited there by someone for a drink. It’s a bar - remember?
Slip something into the drink that knocks him out, pay the bartender to forget they were ever there, and carry him into a “bedroom” to complete the murder and stage the scene.
Simple; like “A piece of cake”.
The consequences of Guyon guy action.
That would be a Guyon guy deal?
