To avoid dangerous climate change and limit global warming to below 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit above the level of preindustrial times – a target endorsed by the international community and the United States – global greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced by 80 to 90 percent by the second half of this century. But even eliminating all carbon dioxide emissions from the energy and transportation sectors may not be enough to reach that target because greenhouse gases from food and agriculture, mainly nitrous oxide from agricultural soils and methane from livestock, will be too large.

Right after Barry, Michelle and the rest of the elites.
Screw these people. What’s next,a proposal to depopulate the third world?
No more meat and cheese for the proletariat. :-)
I’ll have a triple double whooper please with extra cheese.
I’ll have a bacon cheeseburger, please. Hold the tomato and lettuce.
Same nonsense by liberals who are idiots. 1968, ‘The Population Bomb’, also made wild claims like this. It said we’d all be dead by now because the planet couldn’t possibly support more than 4 billion people. It used all kinds of made up ‘facts’ and figures and math and went to town to prove we’d all starve.
Nah, just “people lacking color”.
Next is a proposal to depopulate the first world.
Right, because Global Warming during the Medieval Times could have been prevented if everyone just stopped eating meat and cheese. LOL
Time for lunch!
They’re already full of it.
Reminds me, I have a sharp Irish cheddar in my fridge, courtesy of my son,,,I must indulge now!
Hah no. Just no.
Honestly, I wish I could be a vegetarian. I wish we could all be vegetarians. I have had a lot of friends who are cows and a good friend who is of the sheep persuasion. (Named Agnes, of course.)
But we can’t be vegetarians. It won’t work. People, especially men, need protein and it’s too hard to get enough protein from plant materials, especially if, like me, you’re trying not to be diabetic.
I’m sorry that animals taste so good. I’ve tried giving them up, but after a short time my body simply craves butterfat, meat, and poultry. We need this. Perhaps after Christ comes these desires will go away and the lion can indeed lie down with the lamb.
This is just more of the ivory-tower intelligentsia trying to tell the rest of us to give up our guns and our steak knives because they know it’s better for us to live a quiet, submissive, bloodless life like geldings, without the protein in our bodies to fight back against oppression by our masters. If that’s not the case, tell me how I’m wrong.
NYT and the libs really want to stick it to the heartland,,,they HATE the farmers and the dairies!
No way ... Jose ... :-) ...
