One of the best books ever written on commies is A Revolution In The Family by Shirley Christian. Documents Sandinistas takeover of Nicaragua. One day there was thriving farmer’s markets with amazing crops. The very next day, rationing. Commies, liberals, socialists, National Socialists, I hate them all.

Straight from the store but yummy on toast with dried beef in Bearnaise sauce!

I only eat it once in a while, but enjoy it each time. If I were asked if I like it I would probably make a face and say NO!( just steamed)

I love reading your entries...

Again you have me. Lots of tuna...no relish! Some pickles I could chop...and mustard though, for the canned little dogs?

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? “

You post this quotation quite often. Good.

The govt. can and will do it.

Why don't you just turn yourself in now, and get it over with? Or will you be the one, out of envy, narcing on all of us who have gardens?

I have no use for people who say, "Don't prepare, because the government will take it all anyway." They will have to pay a very dear price to take mine.

And they can't take everyone's. Sooner or later, some state will say, "Here, and no further." It will probably be one of the Western states, like North Dakota.

I aspire to be the double agent.

I will be in the KGB or Gestapo. I will look for weaknesses and when the time is right, I will attack from within.

How long will people resist ? They will resist like the Jews did. A few will try,

Comparing Europeans to Americans is like comparing apples to peaches. One culture is like the apple seeds, formerly feudal and traditionally landless and politically powerless unarmed peasants persecuted for centuries into submissive behavior and separated in purpose by opposing rulers. The other, like the pit of a peach - armed and self-determined landowners from the beginning, conditioned for centuries to walk tall with independence of spirit, and with a heritage of challenging tyranny face-on and in numbers. America will never be a Europe any more than an apple can become a peach.

They can easily spot a vegetable garden

The USSR athorities never cared for vegetable gardens. It's better to rule over living subjects, not over those who have died of hunger. Moreover, they even distrubuted small patches of land for temporarily holding, though banning animal husbandry and some sorts of building.

I don't think this taxation is an issue for Venezuela or any other Socialist country.

I understand why the govn. is giving out cards to track food because people were buying every day and selling it for more money rather than using it. But, they will eventually use the cards to allow you only to buy "x" number of something.

When it happens here (not "if"), the govt will give out entitlement cards rather than benefit cards with cash value. The entitlement card means you go to the store and they must give a loaf of bread or carton of eggs. The rest of us without entitlement cards will have to buy the loaf and it will cost $5 more than yesterday if it is even available for non-card-holders. Your scenario (people grabbing everything they can) is certainly plausible too. But the common thread is that the govt will try to control everything.

Some think they’re more entitled than others. Remember what happened at Walmart when the EBT cards went wonky for a few hours.

You forget that many Americans are descended from people who were both willing to cross the Atlantic Ocean in small wooden boats for a chance to prosper from the sweat of their own brow, and strong and industrious to actually make a go of it.

Europeans are descended from those who stayed behind.

Also, from Adm. James Stockdale, reflecting on his time checked-in at the Hanoi Hilton:
This is a very important lesson. You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.

I’ve seen those people. For the most part the 3-4th generation Americans are fat lazy people often living by selling off land that has been in their family a hundred years. As a matter of fact, I’ve just bought a lot of that land and I am 2nd gen American. My niece is 3rd gen, and she is a lazy spendthrift.

When you have ruined your country’s economy, you have to ration out what little is left somehow . . .
