Mom Grateful for Stranger Who Paid for Family Groceries: 'You Didn't Judge'
Yahoo Shine ^ | 4/4/14 | By Beth Greenfield

A simple, generous act of kindness can be so life changing — especially when it means the difference between kids going hungry or having full bellies. A poignant blog post written by a mother of five made a beautifully honest illustration of that recently.

But the the Bible has plenty to say about the Slothful:

"04 The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing. Proverbs 20:4

"For while we were yet with you, we gave you this rule and charge: If anyone will not work, neither let him eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Did you stop to think that maybe this woman WAS slothful? Your points about us having hard hearts may be very well and good. But Jesus also said

The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.
Mt. 26:11

Using your own money to help a stranger is a noble act.
Government taking your money to give to strangers is not.

That means you need to take his work. He expect you to help carry the weight.

"I only mock stuipid people who are “poor”"

Hopefully that will workout for you.

From another thread:

...for heavily modified definitions of poverty.

One of my friends just cannot understand the definition Americans use for poverty. He lived with his mother, a couple of Aunts, his cousins, in his grandfathers house, with the goats on the other side of the room to keep them from being eaten by the leopards. He never had shoes until he was 12. From his view, he wasn’t in poverty...he had goats, a family, and access to the river. He went to the local Catholic school in the mornings, where he learned to read and write in his native language and English.

I should clarify that to “Willfully ignorant”.

I define stuipid as someone who should know better and has the processing pawer in the cranium but chooses consiously to remain ignorant.

I went on to click the link and read her story.

Rather than take the approach you did, you should have given a sentence or two to this mother's story.

She is no welfare queen.:

Through her blog, “True Stories of a Midwest Yankee,” Andrea documents “life unfolding,” through family tales about moving from the East Coast to the Midwest, with her many kids — one of whom has special needs and another with “9, yes N-I-N-E” food allergies, and all of whom are home-schooled. In her grocery store post, she notes she’s both “grateful and embarrassed” that her family has been on the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) since her husband was laid off after 17 years with his former company, and that her family had, for a time, been homeless

Done these post before and I have seen them come out in droves.

The thing about giving is it isn’t realy about the recipient it’s about the good it does your own soul.

yeah, I’d agree with that. After reading more into the story, this woman and her family do look more like decent American down on their luck rather than someone who likes living off the system.

Not saying this is the case in your post Kart but around here it is a well known scam for young attractive women with kids to get in line at the store and have a “problem” with the welfare debit card. My favorite grocery checker will point them out with a nod to warn good Samaritans off.
