Two pit bulls broke through a fence in a Nevada community, entered a neighbor's home through a dog door and killed three dogs inside while the residents were away, animal control officers said.
Jennifer, a resident of the home in the Reno suburb of Spanish Springs returned Friday to find Jill, a black lab, Gucci, a shih tzu, and Buddy a Pekingese dead inside inside the house on Reiger Springs Drive.
The dogs were seized and their owner is facing a citation, said Barry Brode, director of Washoe County Animal Services. The pit bulls could be euthanized if a judge orders it.

Suffice to say, that all ghastly stories about problem killer dogs are contained in the statistics, regardless of breed. Pit Bulls are not singled out.
The statistics speak for themselves. No amount of delusional sugar coating can trump reality.
Time to join the real world. No amount of rationalizing can bring back to life the growing list of human and pet victims.

however as the owner of multiple dogs, some will, some won’t bite. They all have the mouth and the teeth.
Problem dogs should be euthanized. I’m not condoning the dog’s behavior. All I wrote was the breed shouldn’t be stigmatized.
A lot of people own pit bulls without a problem.
Why do these pit people always seem to have SO MANY animals in their homes? They’re like these pathological pet hoarders.
I suppose the dogs IN THEIR HOUSE were provoking the pit bulls,right? They could hear them, so they demolished a fence to go kill what they heard. Otherwise they are sweet harmless little doggies? Look, I’m dog people, my two Maltepoos sleep in my bed and I cook for them more than I cook for myself, Pit bulls MIGHT have been trustworthy dogs way back when, but they are not now. The breed has been ruined by selective breeding FOR VIOLENCE. I doubt there is a pit bull alive that does not have a fighting,violent dog in its bloodline. WHY would anyone-in light of such stories and disdain of the breed-CHOOSE a pit bull over the countless other breeds of dogs to raise and love? It is the very dangerous appearance and aggressive nature that is desired in most cases. It’s having Godzilla on a leash, appearing as ‘master’ of something society considers dangerous. It’s ego,IMO. I can see NO other reason for an intelligent person to choose a pit bull over any other large dog( if large is what you like).Great Danes are bigger, so are St Bernards and Afghan hounds and even Collies. You’re not going to breed a dog’s nature out-even mixes show traits of their parents. Pointers point, herders have the herd instinct and pit bulls of today are ALL, ALL related to a fighting dog unless you get a show quality animal from a breeder who can prove many generations with no violent dogs in the bloodline. And that is not what most people buy/acquire.
Charging through fences and into homes to kill? Goodbye dogs-and the owners( once incarcerated) should be sued until they can’t afford a tent to live in. Hurt my pups and God help you!
I understand what you are trying to say. Here's the problem, though: a vet once explains to me that ANY dog that's alive and has teeth WILL bite under the right circumstances.
I agree with you, though, that I would not own a dog which is inclined to be aggressive, and pit bulls certainly meet that criterion.
Back when I was a pup in the South, and incredibly old black man passed on this nugget of wisdom to me: “Any dog with teeth will bite”...
What's the big deal?

Teach the dog not to bite. Most people don’t need a guard dog, they want a family companion.
Don’t acquire a dog from a BYB. You don’t know what you’re getting. Buy a dog from a reputable breeder or your animal shelter.
All pit-bulls should be tossed in a trash compactor, crushed, and sent to the landfill.

Let's make shooting those owners automatic.
I had a neighbor with 2 mean pits that kept trying to break the fence and get at my dog. I told him if they got in my yard and killed my dog I would be coming after him. (he got the message) He chained his dogs up and moved shortly after.
But let a police officer do this, in the interest of public safety, and he is excoriated and his head demanded by some "conservatives."

It was a dog that did what centuries of selective breeding intended it to do: attack something. You just can't dismiss the instincts bred into dogs: pointers and setters point birds, retrievers retrieve, border collies herd animals., etc., etc.

I already suffered through having a little dog that was a total pain in the butt, circling my bother and snapping at my mil and nipped my mom in the boob. Never again. Zero tolerance.
