"Three girls are critically injured after one of them stabbed the other two before stabbing herself in the bedroom of a central California house.

Modesto police spokeswoman says the stabbing of two 13-year-old girls and an 11-year-old girl was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday.

She said one of the 13-year-olds appeared to have stabbed the other two before stabbing herself.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbings were being investigated."

Modesto City Schools Superintendent Pam Able told the Modesto Bee (http://bit.ly/1q6igSA) all three girls attend schools in the district. She said counselors will be available Monday morning at their schools.

Lots of “recent immigrants” on a continuing basis. I’d bet big money that the stabber here did the deed and then wept hysterically in regret as she stabbed herself in penance. That’s par for the course for a certain group of people.

Officers said a 13-year-old girl stabbed her 11-year-old sister and 13-year-old friend who were staying the night at a home on the 2600 block of East Orangeburg Avenue about 1 a.m.

The girl then apparently turned the knife on herself, investigators said.

Modesto police said the mother called 911 after hearing the girls screaming.

“My understanding is the mom heard a scream, went to check on them (and) that’s when they found the victims and called police immediately,” said Heather Graves of the Modesto Police Department.

According to officials, the sister and friend are in critical condition, and the girl who is suspected in the stabbings is in serious condition.

“It’s shocking,” said Melinda Cromier who lives nearby. “It’s a great neighborhood.”

Neighbors said they believe the child who was responsible for the stabbings may have special needs, however investigators cannot confirm those claims.

Police said they don’t have a motive for the stabbings.

It is possible that the girl could face attempted murder charges, but Modesto police said they are going to leave that for the Stanislaus County district attorney to decide.

Officers said all three girls are expected to survive.

Emo, (short for emotional), and the much more popular Goths, (short for Gothic) were styles at my daughter`s high school but that was a few years ago, I don`t know if those styles are still in. Kids these days are just too freaky, crap@$$ed modern culture to blame.

The one 13 year old invited the other 13 year old over to spend the night. The 11 year old sister probably got along better with the 13 year old invited over. Could be they made fun of, or else the camaraderie between the 11 year old sis and the 13 year old visitor invited jealousy and rage.

I have no clue what happened here, I am just guessing. Pure speculation. No matter what, this is a sad thing to happen.

That is a reasonable explanation.

I remember the Goth look, but I think it ran back quite a few years. I was never a fan of it. My impression was that it had a darkness about it.

Or it could be the one girl is just crazy, but I doubt it. Thirteen year olds are volatile creatures at times. They are also at an age where having buddies seems to be very important. They get hurt and angered easily too.

I suppose someday we might get an idea of motive. There is definitely a lesson to be learned here.

When I posted that I thought there was a darkness about it I meant not just the clothing, but also the “spiritual” part.

Well anytime you have a style you`ll get the followers of fashion. But when you have a style that's troubling to begin with, then you have the troubled and just plain creepy types who take to it and take it to the literal and extreme end, well that's never any good. My kid knew of an EMO in school that was said to have cut himself to "express his pain and emotion", ask me that's just plain creepy as all hell!
