President Barack Obama on Monday announced more than $100 million in grants for two dozen schools across the country that are helping students gain work experience for what he called the “in-demand jobs of the future.”

The money, which comes from fees that companies pay for visas to hire foreign workers for specialized jobs, is the result of an executive order Obama signed last year to better prepare high school students for college or for careers. Students are working on “cooler stuff than when I was in high school,” Obama said as he announced the grants before cheering high school students in Washington’s Maryland suburbs. …

The money will be wasted and/or stolen. No jobs will be created.

Why doesn’t Obama mind his own business and quit telling everybody else what to do. Put him back in his Constitutional cage.

Will this go for creating skill sets for those “shovel-ready” jobs?

Students are working on “cooler stuff than when I was in high school,” Obama said

C'mon, Prez. What can be better than Choom?

Exactly. I thought the same thing. The dear leader is going to give money to schools to help under-qualified kids get jobs that don't exist. No chance for wasteful spending here.

$100,000,000/12=$833,333 per school. That’s an awful lot of cash per school. Betcha: Unions are involved in this and will shovel most of the 100,000,000 into RAT reelection campaigns.

I can honestly say, I have never spoken to ANYBODY who benefitted, obtained training or got a job from money provided by H1B visa applicants.

With 0bama's "green jobs" initiative, here's the "high demand" jobs he's made available:

Not sure why young people need a grant to find such rewarding employment!!

GeronL :"he doesnt see the dichotomy"

He sees the issue and ingores it : education /job training doesn't create jobs.
The jobs aren't there and he has done nothing to create more or better jobs.
The only thing he has created is : more 'part-time' jobs that will not support a family , by eliminating 'full-time' employment.
Furthermore , the Federal Education Dept. program of "Common Core" is an indoctrination program that even educators are resisting ,
because it isn't a learning program , is more concerned with agenda , and is dumbing down our youth into 'common stupidity'.
Obadunga says this program is to prepare students to compete for jobs throughout the world economy.
How can a graduating student find a job when he is as dumb as a box of rocks, can't read or write cursive, and only speaks in 84 characters or less ?
and can't even think , probelm solve , and still lives in his family's basement ?

In demand jobs? Like the ones you want to fill with illegals? In demand jobs you expect to fill with kids who can’t do math because of the rediculous common core methods? You, a president that has never worked a day in his life outside of the ivory tower know what kind of in demand jobs are out there? A political party that ridicules and impugnes jobs like plumbers, welders, machinists, and mechanics knows about in demand jobs?

If only we could erase 50 years of public education “progress” and go back to programs in pre-college, business skills, and hands-on trades. I suspect that there would be less “special needs” if the schools weren’t pretending that almost every kid should be preparing for college, and they were being prepared for life.

No, like these: http://freerepublic.com/focus/news/3141791/posts?page=5

Yahoo.

What a lousy prospect. Cleaning up after old Boomers, harvesting their meager savings, pensions and recycling taxes. That will last a long time.

Yeah, sure.

Why bother? This is a loser nation and losing prospect.
