Do you have a sneaking suspicion that your current field resembles an endangered species? If so, you might not be alone in feeling like a dinosaur.

According to Las Vegas-based career expert Denise Nicole Cook, people working in professions that are experiencing increased automation and technological change could find their jobs practically extinct in the not-too-distant future.

"Pay attention to the industry you're in, because even if it's not currently automated, it may be automated in the future," says Cook, founder of The Honest Info career counseling firm.

Sound like your career, or one you're planning to pursue? Keep reading to learn more about which jobs are in crisis - and which of their counterparts appear to be booming.

Career in Crisis #3:
News Analyst, Reporter, Correspondent

Once a staple of people’s viewing and reading habits, news analysts and reporters are finding their careers being treated like, well, yesterday’s news. This field is projected to experience a 13 percent drop in their numbers - losing 7,200 jobs - from 2012 to 2022, says the U.S. Department of Labor.

HIP HIP HOORAY for this one!

News reporters careers in decline?

Well, this one sounds good to me, LOL.

They deliver such liberal claptrap and drivel most of the time. We can do without them.

I actually get more news from Free Republic than I do any other source. And almost never watch TV news anymore.

Guy should learn how to format better. That was close to unreadable.

The sad one here is farmer. When the mid to low size farmer/ranchers are gone and only the ConAgra types are left watch food skyrocket. Not to mention the libs will have two things they can control us with healthcare and food sources.

The post office won’t be going under anytime soon. Government’s not going to let capitalism show up its monopoly, so we’ll continue to be forced to subsidize the failing business.

Didn’t see doctors on the list, a species becoming extinct due to government-directed habitat destruction, and loss of vital resources due to changing climate.

Competition from traditionally weaker species that reproduce faster also factors in, especially since, expending less time and energy helping others, those species are better able to organize their herds for acquiring new territory.

New cohorts of native born doctors are slower slow to mature, and are producing fewer and fewer offspring with each generation. Older members of the species are looking to pasture in less adverse ecosystems, or have already begun to migrate there. The prognosis for the species is considered tenuous.

Advertisers won’t give up the home delivery of their spam that the Post Office affords them.

Most of my daily mail is junkmail and some days that is all there is.

Make THEM pay their “fair share” and the the delivery load would drop (increasing efficiency).

There is a good reason for home delivery of mail, but spam service isn’t it.
