Is there something about a BMW that makes the owner think he is better than anybody else?
Or does he buy a BMW because he thinks he is better than anybody else? Perhaps he KNOWS he is better but no one has seemed to notice yet? Advertizing, man!

If they used one of the side outlets on the hydrant and it probably would have been quicker than smashing the windows and feeding the hose through, but less entertaining. The side outlets on a fire hydrant are smaller. The main outlet is intended for connection to the fire truck pumper unit to help pump the water to put out large fires.

They didn't have to smash the glass. They could have used the Jaws Of Life to tear the doors off.
What?
To: Forward the Light Brigade
Right. The extra time the firefighters had to work around or through that law-breaker’s vehicle, both additional life and property loss could occur.
To: Responsibility2nd
Based on the position of the hydrant and hose, they should have ripped his doors off too.

Street parking spaces in Boston are at a premium.
This guy paid $300K for a parking space in Back Bay....

....and the story is East Boston....a different kettle of fish. Remember the BFD lost one of their own a few weeks ago, in awful OTJ accident. East Boston is a pretty tough neighborhood.
I'm glad the FD got some revenge. Those 3-stackers are so close to each other....a whole neighborhood could have gone up.

Indeed, just emphasizes that BMW drivers continue to be self absorbed asswipes that feel more important than everyone else. Nothing has changed over the years.
No doubt Obunga voters.

There is not much room UNDER a BMW. Just a few inches.

It looks like going down under the car would have worked much better than what they did.

Seems to me bashing the car with a firetruck and shoving the mangled wreck out of the way would have made for a straighter hose....

I have no problem with this.
In my neighborhood, we have people who insist on parking on both sides of the street where there is a fairly sharp turn. They could park in their driveways and not be on the street, so it’s not a necessity issue. There isn’t enough room for a fire truck to get through; not without touching their cars. One thing I’ve learned is that you do not get between firemen and a fire. That truck will crash right through the cars to get where they need to go, and the city will sue for the damage to the truck.
I’ve told the neighbors this. We’ll see if it ever comes to that.

Is there something about a BMW that makes the owner think he is better than anybody else? What's the difference between a BMW and a porcupine?
With a porcupine, the prick is on the outside.
You can use substitute any make/model of car; it's a very versatile joke.

It also happens that it was a car that likely started the massive fire. Authorities believe a vehicle parked in the garage of one of the homes exploded.
Plus the start of the fire was another car in a garage? It exploded?
When does that ever happen?
1. Terrorism, we have a track record there.
2. Electric car battery (or hydrogen vapors) explosion?
I'll bet on 2.
