OK, here's a question for all you climate Freepers. How exactly does one measure global co2 and compare it to 800,000 past year levels?

You have to use proxies, like tree-ring data. You cannot, however, stitch recent thermometric data to ancient tree-ring data and say it's valid. That's how Michael Mann came up with his fraudulent "hockey stick graph."

The chart below shows that atmospheric CO2 levels have been vastly higher in geological time, and the world did not end.
