Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects.

For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes—and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures.

The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. …

Because these brain regions are central for motivation, the findings from Northwestern help support the well-known theory that marijuana use leads to a condition called amotivation. Also called amotivational syndrome, this psychological condition causes people to become less oriented towards their goals and purposes in life, as well as seem less focused in general.

I think some people are on these because they are unhappy in their marriages. Just an observation and I am not saying everybody should be off meds.

The study said abnormal. It did not say evil, power hungry or treasonous.

Perhaps, but there is no way in hell that you can deny the truly abnormal statements that that trio vomits forth.

Here's some current proof to Biden's abnormality in a comment to survivors of the Boston bombing.

VP Biden: "my god, u have survived & u have soared. it was worth, it was worth it. i mean this sincerely, just to hear each of u speak."

Wow, a “study” of 20 subjects telling us what we already know- people with brain abnormalities are more likely to abuse drugs and be self destructive. There were no “before” scans of these subjects so there is no way to prove causation.

You can find the same correlation of schizophrenia and heavy tobacco use. It does not mean tobacco causes it.

Show me a SINGLE study of twins with different brains- one that smokes pot and one that doesn't. Hell, show me ONE example of even twin animals. That would actually confirm something but so far not one case has been shown.

Ok, you might have me on Biden, but I think he had something much stronger than weed. Maybe his mom dropped him allot.

“This study is just a beginning pilot study”

who’s funding the study? and how valuable is the grant?

and how soon can we start testing liberals?

If the problem is casual use, then the serious users must be OK.

This comes under the heading of “No Sh*t, Sherlock”. Doesn’t matter how much the pro-legalization crowd wants to argue, brain scans have proved there is damage to the brain with long-term use of marijuana.

Or it is the medical community saying this so they can prescribe more meds as opposed to those who smoke weed for pain!!

I believe there are many more recreational users of marijuana, than need it for pain purposes. This article is aimed at those people.

What they don’t tell you...

Who funded the study!

How long did it take to find out who funded global warming studies.

I estimate riding a motorcycle on paved streets and highways, is more dangerous to one’s self than driving audomobiles.

Therefore the state should outlaw motorcycles.

Frequent consumption and too much alcohol is harmful to one’s self, so it too should be outlawed. Wait, we tried that.

Too many Tylenol can destroy your liver, in a surprisingly short time. They have warning labels, but should be outlawed to protect people that cannot or will not follow warnings.

The clause in the Constitution directing or allowing the governments to micromanage so many detailed aspects of citizens’ lives is what number again?
