I am amazed that it could be spun into a series.

My wife and I loved the Fargo episode. I watched it a second time to get all the characters straight. First show at least three characters taken out. The show is as lethal as Justified.

It’s not just the “you betcha”s and “ya”s. They started putting in “sounds good”. Which I use at least 10 times each day. Hard to hear yourself as comedic relief.

Same. Do you know if they’re having any re-runs of the Tuesday show?

My North Dakotan co-workers say the accent is spot on.

I didn’t say it wasn’t correct.
It’s just a little too close for comfort.

Bates Motel is great IMO. Great acting by all cast members but particularly Freddy Highmore (Norman Bates. There’s mystery, intrigue, conspiracy with decent story lines and interesting characters that have their own quirks. Its basically a show that shows you what formed the man who became Norman Bates. The writers have certainly done thir homework on the psychology makeup of a serial killer, particularly the traits that manifest themselves in early childhood and the causes. I studied and read about that topic for years off and on as a hobby (plus it helped me understand a lot anout criminal psychology which helped me understand how they think nd thir motivations in my line of work). The writers nail it from beginning to end with the strong, overbearing, melodramatic, and controlling mothers who isolate them from other children physically and emotionally to the killing or harming of animals as a youth to their (sometimes) fascination with taxidermy and anatomy. He also witnessed someone being killed in his youth like Richard Ramirez, the Nightstalker did (he saw his uncle kill his aunt right in front of him if memory serves correct). Ramirez is one of the most evil and safistic serial killers that has ever existed.

Its a show that i could watch for 2 hours Instead of the one hour that it airs so I guess you could say I’m a fan.

The series I really liked was Homeland. Won a ton of Emmies. I don’t have Showtime and had to wait for the DVDs. Somehow they cannot manage to get Season3 DVD out or Season4 show on the air.

I suspect contract glitches with Damian Lewis, our “hero,” who was killed off in Season3. Anyone know anything about it?

As for Fargo, a brilliant movie; nice to know it’s a series now too.

> Like it so far. Billy Bob Thornton is a convincing bad guy.

That’s because real life aholes don’t have to act much to play their bad guy roles...lol

I grew up across the river, in Moorhead. Lot of family still lives there. Guess I’ll have to watch it.

Apparently not, but I’m likin’ the “No Country for Old Fargo” feel to it.

May I

I think they are doing a great job with Bates motel.

It’s the bcd story to psycho with Norman in high schools. Fera Farmiga and the Kid who plays Norman nail it as far as I’m concerned.

Instead of a Cal off Hwy 99 small town it’s along the north coast, but looks like the set at universal with the house on the hole above the motel.

I think they are doing a good job and worth watching.
