Roberts

What should we expect from someone like Sotomayor. She is basically saying “please give people like me special, unconstitutional favors because I’m incompetent.” She should be dismissed from the court. But so should all the other libs on the court.

“Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s fierce defense of the affirmative action efforts like the ones that helped move her from a Bronx housing project to the upper echelons of American law...”

So... she didn’t get where she is on the basis of talent?

Makes sense.

The unqualified ditz sitting on the SCOTUS only because Barry and the ‘RATS thought that she had a cute “compelling life story”. Everyone knows a “compelling life story” trumps being a brain dead moron every time. She’s an gringo-hating moron.

The “wise latino woman” is a racist. She shouldn’t be a judge at all, never mind a SC justice.

Her position that she felt she benefitted from it is an argument for recusing herself.

She’s not wrong...just a partisan hack, which is why she’s there in the first place.

Her faux outrage at the decision speaks more about her inability to think and reason. Which are essentially nil.

Don’t have to “wish away” “racial inequality”.

sotomayor wrote 50+ pages to say she disagrees? Wow ... Has to place one at the point of blindness reading her repeating over and over ‘I disagree’

It is becoming clear that the terms "racism" and "racial inequality" and "affirmative action" are code words for the "War against America"...and particularly the "War against Whitey's America."

Where do these people think America came from? Do they think it just rose up out of nothing to become the greatest nation in the world? Did they ever stop to consider that it was the white man's adoption of Judeo/Christianity that made us great?

America is not a white nation or a black or brown nation...we are Christian nation.

And when we lose that (to achieve which Obama is so diligently striving)...we will sink back into the mire of history.

Of course, that won't happen.

As Jesus said, "be of good cheer."

Christianity is so incredibly powerful that it has overcome Maoist China...it can certainly repel a pretty widdle queen like Obama.

“The unqualified ditz sitting on the SCOTUS only because Barry and the ‘RATS thought that she had a cute “compelling life story”. “

The following Republican Senators voted to confirm Ms. Sotomayor:

Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Judd Gregg, George Voinovich, Mel Martinez, Richard Lugar, Christopher Bond, Lindsey Graham, Lamar Alexander.

To his credit, John McCain voted against confirmation. McCain statement regarding his vote — “However, an excellent resume and an inspiring life story are not enough to qualify one for a lifetime of service on the Supreme Court. ... Her writings demonstrated that she does not subscribe to the philosophy that federal judges should respect the limited nature of the judicial power under our Constitution. ... And, as I stated earlier, regardless of one’s success in academics and in government service, an individual who does not appreciate the common sense limitations on judicial power in our democratic system of government ultimately lacks a key qualification for a lifetime appointment to the bench.”

OK, so what is the possible legal basis for giving someone like Sotomayor special rights????

To a certain extent I can understand blacks (slavery) or Native Americans (violation of treties, seizure of lands). But for he other folks who made the decision to come to America, they should all be treated the same way.

She is white. I’m sure she wishes otherwise, but too bad, it is what it is.
