Just took some...kinda like coconut lard. Not the best in the world, but not making me gag too much.

Here in the Philippines, we use nothing but pure coconut oil.
It is sold by numerous vendors in the town’s central market, packaged in a poly bag, containing about one pint. I had just transferred a bag of it to our plastic oil bottle, prior to reading this post. I also buy natural brown sugar, packaged the same way.

I suppose that’s the most we can ask of anything...that it not make us gag too much.

:)

They also have capsules if the oil is just to much to swallow...literally.

LOL...especially in this day and age.

It's a bit much, but not awful. Going follow with a spoonful of Manuka honey and then organic apple cider vinegar so I can really start retching. But I'm gonna be healthy starting tonight by golly!

Okay...me, too! Since my coconut oil intake was zero, the two tbsp I just choked back is a good start.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia death rates by country.
http://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/alzheimers-dementia/by-country/

Per 100,000 people
Data Source: WHO 2011

#1 Finland 34.9
#2 Iceland 25.1
#3 United States 24.8
#158 Philippines 1.4

Could it be the coconut oil or the lack thereof??? It just might be.

It does slide down, but not the easiest thing to take. Kinda giving me after shocks. Maybe I'll melt it and put it in milk over cereal.

It is reported to have antibiotic and antifungal properties, but I use the wally world Equate Medicated Dandruff Shampoo, a generic knock-off of Selsun Blue, a selenium based shampoo, about $3.50 for 11 ounces. Much better than Head and Shoulders.

How are all your animals? How are snakies? I remember awhile back you lost one, but found him after a long time missing. Have you rubbed the oil on them and noticed an improvement in scales? :)

Try mixing it with your oatmeal, and a taste of butter.

If I get better do I care if it's "just a placebo effect"? The stuff is cheap enough and harmless after all!

Check this out Jack. I’ll have to see where Sri Lanka falls on the dementia scale if listed.

http://www.pca.da.gov.ph/heartdisease.php

A study published in the medical journal Tropical and Geographical Medicine found that coronary heart disease, the world’s number one cause of death, is virtually unknown in a coconut eating population of Sri Lanka.

“Alzheimer’s/Dementia death rates by country.”

That is a very interesting statistic.
A diet, high in fish, may also boost longevity, but they also eat a lot of pork and chicken here.
