Anyone know of photo edit shareware with embedded file info function?

Posted on 04/27/2014 7:23:27 AM PDT by ViLaLuz

Can anyone recommend a photo editing shareware that embeds the "file information" like Photoshop does? My laptop died yesterday that has my creative suite on it but I'm on deadline. Laptop/CS will be replaced, but not until the business week so I'm in a pinch.

I researched the shareware but there's too much info out there and I hope someone can help me cut through. The "file info" function is the sticking point and it's a requirement to embed that for my submissions. Thank you in advance for your tips.

Will Gimp work? It’s free and available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

I'm sure I wouldn't know about those purported 'other OSes'. ;)

Try Inkscape (free) or Serif Draw (cheap).

Doesn't windows do this? Right or left mouse button click and then file info.

Not on a windows machine right now but I remember doing this with mp3s and jpegs.

GIMP is platform agnostic. I use it in Windows all the time.

Photo Mechanic from Camerabits.com is what I use. They have a fully functioning 30 day trial. It is a powerful, fast tool for captioning and other metadata tagging.

You can have it automatically add copyright info as you download from your memory cards, batch caption, save templates for different customers.

It doesn’t do all the image editing stuff, just cropping and resizing, but it is very effective in what it does.

Photoshop CS2 is available as a free download? That would be the perfect answer. The suite I lost this morning was CS1.
