Steveston Pizza in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada supposedly sells the worlds most expensive pizza, piled high with rare and decadent seafood, for $450
Most of us think of pizza as the go-to, fast-casual meal that usually doesnt dig too much into your wallet. But at Steveston Pizza in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, you can get a full-on gourmet pie experience.
The pizzeria sells what may be the worlds most expensive pizza, at $450 per pie, more than double the previous Guinness World Record title held by Gordon Ramsays $178 white truffle pizza. This decadent pie features lobster thermidor, black Alaskan cod, smoked salmon, tiger prawns, and Russian Osetra caviar.
"It's not your usual Friday night pizza," owner Nader Hatami told CTV Vancouver. "I just kept on going with the ingredients.
Not surprisingly, Hatami has only sold about eight of these over-the-top pizza creations, which he apparently created from his love of seafood. Stevetson also sells another, slightly-less pricey pizza pie for $120, which features Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead, lobster ratatouille and roasted garlic. Many of Stevestons menu creations are unusual, including toppings like Brie, Swedish mustard drizzle, wasabi-scented chicken and seaweed.
I guess since Canada's middle class is now richer, it's only fair.
ah....Pizza has none of that. Tomato sauce, spice, cheese, pepperoni and sausage. Maybe some other things. Not cod and truffles.
You’d have to be a real hoser to pay aboot $500 fer a pizza, eh?
I just paid $10 to inhale a 10” with everything.
For $450 bucks it better be eight feet in diameter.
Looks pretty good except that somebody’s put a bunch of bait on top of it.
Joe 6-pack,
Do you live in Lafayette?
Don't tell her. She'd use "our money" to have it flown in.
The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
If I am ever up that way, I'll probably give it a try but I can't imagine any work - or even tourist - situation that would bring me to Richmond, British Columbia (apparently a suburb of Vancouver).
I did pay $400 for a bottle of wine once. Don't know why I did it, it was pretty stupid. I mean, the wine was okay but I've had a lot of $20-25 wines that tasted just as good in my opinion.
I’m not the cheapest SOB in the world, but when I’m cheap, I’m really cheap. I get upset when they charge $4 for a Glass of Wine at a Restaurant.
For that money I can buy two Bottles of $2 Buck Chuck at Trader Joes. $400 for a Bottle would make my head explode.
Hope that evening turned out great despite the Bill.
Speaking of Olive Garden, have you seen their prices lately?
Unless I get a Gift Card for my Birthday, I’m not going.
Sounds like the Casino bought you the Wine. Good job.
I have a theory about casual restaurant chains. In their first few years, they really try hard to gain market share. Once they mature and establish a base of regulars, they start cutting costs in order to get the margins up. Where they had waitstaff covering just 6 tabletops, now they are covering 10-12. Portions shrink. They start sourcing cheaper ingredients. Bar drinks are poured with a lighter hand. At that point, it's time to move on to one of the newer chains.
Little Caesars Pizza when severed at a federal government convention.
Near enough to go to Deano’s :-)
I can’t decide. Should I throw up now, or later?
That seems like a pretty good theory. I used to like Chili’s 20 years ago but their portions are downright Scrooge like nowadays. It’s a completely different restaurant. I’d be surprised if Olive Garden has their servers covering ten or more tables, though. Anything more than six is approaching a superhuman feat. I waited tables back in the day and speak from experience.
