Netflix has “Gaslight” on DVD. We have it on VHS, as it is one of Mrs. Homer’s favorites. Often when she misplaces something she accuses me of hiding the object in an effort to drive her insane, a la Gregory Anton. Great cast, compelling and suspenseful story. 3 ½ stars for “Gaslight.”

Angela Lansbury played went on to play the serial killer in Murder She Wrote. Did you ever notice that wherever her character went murder followed. Sleepy little towns, plush resorts, anywhere. Places that never even had a misdemeanor had people dropping like flies when she showed up. Coincidence? I think not. She always managed to pin it on somebody else.

I recently saw Gaslight for the first time. Very good movie, but I wish she’d gotten better revenge on her husband at the end, while he was tied up. Audiences would have cheered. What a despicable character he was!
