9 Signs Your Cat Loves You
Vet Street via Yahoo! Shine ^ | Arden Moore

It's often easy to spot when cats are being finicky or feisty. But what about when they are showing pure feline affection? What does that look like?

We spoke with Dr. Allen Schoen, a veterinarian, behaviorist and author of the best-selling book Kindred Spirits and Vetstreet's own Dr. Marty Becker, author of Your Cat: The Owner's Manual, to share 10 ways cats deliver love and affection to the people who matter most to them.

"I've been studying animal behavior since 1974 and can say without a doubt that cats can and do bond with their favorite people," declares Dr. Allen Schoen, a veterinarian, behaviorist and author of the best-selling book Kindred Spirits. "I've been fortunate to share my life with some of the sweetest, most loving cats. When they come in contact with us, they are consciously making an inter-species connection."

But the trick is to recognize - and appreciate - what they are trying to tell you. Here are ten ways cats show their affection.

Yeah but a dog will save your life. A dog will:

1. Attack an intruder with no thought of its own safety
2. Sniff out a bomb, drugs, even cancer in your tissue
3. find you burried under rubble
4. Warn you of danger..even an impending earthquake
5. Serve bravely along side you in the military or police force
6. Rescue you from drowning
7. help you hunt for food

that’s only just off the top of my head.

our cat is ok. Really doesn’t do much but eat and sleep and occasionally likes to be scratched. Its good at destroying furniture with her claws no matter how many other scrathcing options we provide. Throws up hairballs frequently. Scratches my wife enough to draw blood at least once a week for no apparent reason. Doesn’t really like any of our children and will scratch them too. Shes only 3 years old so I probably have at least 10-15 more years to put up with it too...

If you’re diabetic, your cat will detect when you’re hypoglycemic.

What are they trying to say when they stand on your chest and drool on you?

Cats who adopt you are the best. Our cat found and adopted us. We were not looking for another cat. Hope another good cat adopts you!

Very cool. My daughter got a kitten everytime i tried pet her attack me face or whatever. was available to scratch or bite. Then she got a hernia and literally almost died. I spent hours prayng, petting and loving on her. I fell in love with her and now she does the head butt thing and blinking. Good to know she loves me back now.

very interesting animals....we have 2.. I love dogs as well, but they are miles apart in regards to the affection issue. Dogs make no bones about it, when you are present, they are in love with you... YOU rock their world. Cats are far more selective as to when they will show this side of themselves.
