It shows Nixon was a visionary, only understood by Democrats. /S
Adviser Daniel Patrick Moynihan, [IOW, not Nixon] notable as a Democrat in the administration, urged the administration to initiate a worldwide system of monitoring carbon dioxide in the atmosphere... "There is widespread agreement that carbon dioxide content will rise 25 percent by 2000... This could increase the average temperature near the earth's surface by 7 degrees Fahrenheit... This in turn could raise the level of the sea by 10 feet. Goodbye New York. Goodbye Washington, for that matter."That text is boilerplate, either originated with, or was later adopted as his own, by the late Carl Sagan, faux scientist and demagogue, whose legacy is still stalking our liberties.
Nixon also pushed for socialized medicine. A Rino.
Well, it made sense to me when I typed it and I really did mean “less” and their are worse agencies than the EPA. I’m sorry it didn’t come across correctly. Thanks.
I am considering getting a Jay Carney account at FR. That way I could say dumb things or speak incorrectly and just blame my “spokesman”. ;-]
Nixon was very much of a visionary, he created the modern republican party.
While Nixon was prez, the group that would become known as NeoConservatives would leave the dem party to become republicans. They were then led by Irving Kristol, who passed the NeoCon throne down to his son, Bill Kristol.
Nixon also implemented his Southern Strategy, which became GOP policy to bring the Cultural Populists out of the dem party into the GOP.
The NeoCons and rightwing populists are very powerful in the modern GOP
