Two New Studies Suggest Women Are More Attracted to a Man Holding a Guitar
Guitar World ^ | May 7, 2014 | Damian Fanelli

There's a certain Je ne sais quoi about a guy holding a guitar.

Or so says a new study from France, which suggests that a man is perceived as more attractive to women if there’s a guitar in his hands. The study's results are similar to the findings of a 2012 study from Israel.

France, Israel, Hoboken or Bumpass, Virginia — it doesn't matter where the guitarist is from. The point is, male guitarists are generally viewed as promising mating material (as if we didn't all know that already)!

It's been suggested that women are also attracted to guys holding a couple of million dollars.

The researchers say that women have their eyes on musicians but really it's their lute that they want!

What about a banjo?

My boyfriend in high school picked banjo very well. I was so in love with him. I remember one crisp fall day meandering up scenic coastal Highway One to Monterey, me behind the wheel in his gigantic landyacht Buick convertible with the top down, him kicked-back in the big passenger seat, all relaxed, picking banjo and playing fabulous tunes as the scenery rolled by.

"An enchanted moment ..."

She’s still doing/looking good last time I saw something about her. Was never a huge fan but she has talent.

A man is more attractive if there's a certain light in his eye, a gentlemanly confidence. I also find them more attractive when they have rifles, pistols, work tools, or the controls to fast planes or cars in their hands! ;^)

Absolutely right and worth repeating!

Nothing against guitars but this is right on!

It just isn’t VH to me. Dave back and Mike out is still a cover band to me. I’m sure it was OK, but I’d rather keep the memory of the real thing intact.

How about walking barefoot?

That's easy! Don't wear socks! Duh!

Did you like Sammy? I thought the band had better rock tracks than mainstream pop songs though that is what is likely most fans remember.

Humans evolved to wear cowboy boots. Primates walk barefoot.

Norm, no kiddin', my Tony Lamas, a half-size smaller than my regular shoes, are the most comfortable choice for any long-on-my-feet occasion. If I'm going to spend a day in the theme park or walking around the fairground or something like that, I've learned: my cowboy boots will have my feet feeling just great at the end of the day. They squeeze the foot and that nice slightly well-under heel of an inch or so really gives good foundation and grip for pretty much any gait. Ten hours at the races, my feet are fine; ten hours in tennis shoes or flops, and my feet are ailin'.
