I know rules are rules but if they (adn) weren’t so touchy I would have gone to the adn site and read the whole thing and giving them a “hit”

Now they get nothing from Me.

....Anchorage Daily News requires all content to be excerpted......

I DID excerpt the text I posted

Also interesting that I have never had a problem posting

photos from ADN until now (just a couple of weeks

after new owners took over).

I did that in the excerpted post and it is noted in some slideshow captions at the link.

...didn't know about the PR page at your link.

Anyhow...besides the fact that the ADN is indeed pond scum, I am thankful that these wonderful vets get to make this voyage and that the airline gives it to them. Some people are much nicer than others!

God bless our vets...especially since it’s VE day today! :)

America has had many great generations.

Those who fought and won the Revolution. Those soldiers in the War Between the States, who marched into almost certain death without hesitation. Those who charged up San Juan Hill, and those in WWI who suffered so much in the trenches.

I particularly remember those American Navy sailors who faced down and eventually beat the Japanese when all the cards were stacked against them. At Midway where they beat the best trained and most highly selective pilots and aircrew in the world. Japanese pilots flying better aircraft than we had. They sent four Japanese Carriers to the bottom of the sea and never let them dominate the Pacific again.

God Bless them - God Bless them all, God Bless them good!

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Yes the Americans were not just brave, they were good.

I will have to admit that the Japanese and Germans were very tough opponents but the Americans always eventually prevailed.

I recall Saburo Sakai in his book mentioned the American Marines attacking in New Guinea. One of his fellow pilots told him the Americans had landed and were fighting like demons.
