Although the satellite data provides the most important clues about the plane’s overall flight path, they’re not the only clues available. Authorities have some basic but crucial additional information about the flight that can help to make sense of the satellite math:

Why Inmarsat’s Analysis Is Probably Wrong
The new frequency values, calculated by Exner, show the flight’s speed relative to the satellite as only about 144 miles per hour by the last ping, but Inmarsat’s example flight paths show a relative speed of about 272 miles per hour....
Inmarsat claims that it found a difference between a southbound and northbound path based on the satellite’s motion. But a graph of the frequency shifts along those paths should look very different from the one Inmarsat has produced....
The biggest risk to the investigation now is that authorities continue to assume they’ve finally found the area where the plane went down, while failing to explore other possibilities simply because they don’t fit with a mathematical analysis that may not even hold up.

If the Boeing 777 was flying @ 144mph relative speed at the last ping then it was approaching its stall speed and preparing for a landing -- not crashing or running out of fuel.
And if that's the case then they should be looking further north and much closer to Indonesia.

But they are spending $100 million on the unofficial assumption that the plane ran out of fuel and crashed and flew the last five hours at 400mph when it might very well have been closer to 200mph.

Many of us questioned the Inmarsat analysis because it totally depended on the accuracy of the doppler shift data, and yet the company was too busy showing off it’s brilliance than to respond to questions and provide the necessary technical detail to validate their theory. Now we see further evidence that they forgot to account for even the simplest scenario - that their data included an intermediate relay station. The one common characteristic throughout this MH370 debacle is the incompetence of those involved.
I read somewhere that it could glide for an hour. I still say the tracks that show it “roller coasting” from high to low means it gained altitude, coasted for an hour, gained altitude, coasted for an hour....

IMO we will see the 777 again. As a flying bomb heading toward Tel Aviv or possibly Jerusalem ( although I don’t think the Muslims would risk destroying the Temple Mount).
Maybe even nuclear.
As for flying a nuke to the U.S., they could just as easily have one in a ship container.
If they wanted to crash in the ocean why didn’t they take a right turn towards the vast Pacific ocean instead of turning left where they had to cross land is my question.
Them lousy azimuth relatives always show up to family gatherings and screw everything up.
In this case however it appears that the plane would have been travelling almost due east of the satellite and almost directly across the arcs -- diminishing the effect of azimuth relatives.
My question as well —
and why all the evasive maneuvers to get out of the area without being seen.
This pilot wanted to put that plane down where he could survive and where there were probably people waiting to pick him up.
And if they did then his plan worked because they had over two weeks while people were looking everywhere else — and still are.
That’s what I was thinking. 144 MPH is more like landing speed.
Originally I believed the plane was in Pakistan or Iran but I think it would have leaked out by now. At this point the only place I can think of is Diego Garcia where it could be hidden and kept secret.
