Guy Fieri Moves "Flavor Town" Home to Santa Rosa
NBC Bay Area ^ | Monday, May 5, 2014 | Chris Roberts

Flavortown is in Santa Rosa. Guy Fieri has said so.

Santa Rosa is Flavortown, USA, you guys.

Guy Fieri, the king of bold taste and the host of a new Food Network show, has shifted production of "Guy's Grocery Games" to his hometown of Santa Rosa, according to the North Bay Business Journal.

The set is a warehouse converted to resemble a grocery store -- specifically, Fieri's "Flavor Town" grocery store, the newspaper reported.

In the show, chefs compete to pull off the finest dish using items found in a grocery store. The show used a real store for its first season before seguing to the warehouse in Industry Commerce Center in the Sonoma County seat, the newspaper reported.

There's only one thing wrong.

Fieri, who catapulted onto the national food scene after winning a Food Network competition following the opening of Johnny Garlic's in Santa Rosa, wishes it was a real store.

There is some incredible food in that part of Sonoma County, wine too. My wife grew up there.

I like his DD&D program but I doubt I will watch this show.

By the way, how is his last pronounced? Sounds like he is saying ‘Guy Sketty’ when he is introducing his DD&D show.

Johnny Garlic’s did not impress me. My pork belly flatbread pizza had only two or three miniscule - and I do mean miniscule - tidbits of pork belly. Nothing like the menu picture. My companions got a buffalo sandwich and pork ribs. Both were tough. Ribs were plentiful but very dry. Server was great! But we would not go back.

Went there once, years ago when it was merely expensive and not outrageously so.

The food was the best I ever had.

But at today's prices, I will pass on a return visit.

His new show “Guy’s Grocery Games” is really pretty good. If you like cooking shows, you will probably like this version.

Maybe. I just saw that Costco will have someone bury your ashes at sea for $149.99.

Back when we had a little money we went to a tasting menu dinner at the casino in Gulfport. One of the best meals I’ve ever had, even though the portions were not at all large. At $50 a piece it wasn’t terribly expensive. I can just imagine what the French Laundry would be like. Wife says it’s now up to about $250-350 a person and a reservation takes several years to get.

$295.00 per person, dinner only, no wine.

reservations are taken two months to the day in advance on a first come first reserved basis.

I understand that each day is sold out in about 30 minutes.

I really, really need my eye surgery. When I first glanced to your post, I thought it said $295,000. I thought wow, who pays that?

Michelle Obama would (as long as she can put it on the government tab)

“$295.00 per person, dinner only, no wine.”....

I suggest you find a good “Mom and Pop” place and go there several times to make up for visiting the “French Laundry”.
