Country music icon Glen Campbell will probably never perform again, according to his wife.

Kim Woolen claims the Wichita Lineman hitmaker's Alzheimer's disease symptoms have robbed Campbell of his ability to recall lyrics and play the guitar.

Yes. But it’s sad that he probably won’t be writing and performing anymore.

***What a talented decent man. ***

Who could sing, but not act! Ruined TRUE GRIT.
Got the hots for Nashville skank Tanya Tucker, broke up his marriage, then dumped Tanya.

When I criticized his acting in True Grit my girlfriend dropped me like a hot rock as she also had the hots for him because he was of the same church denomination as she and she had fantasies of being his wife.

No great loss to me.

I find this very sad. Having worked at a facility for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

One of the most amazing things I witnessed was a sweet lady who could barely speak .. but as soon as you put on a tape of Christian music she could sing along, including knowing all the words.

It always amazed me .. because when I cared for my mom, she could do the same thing.

I would suggest they try just regular Christian music .. and they might be surprised how much of it he would remember. The secret is .. with Alzheimer’s it’s the “short-term memory” that’s the issue .. but many of them still remember days of their youth .. but can’t remember their name today.

There are some that say if you turned on a radio during certain periods of the 60's, that you had a 50% chance of hearing Glen playing guitar.

I feel so sorry for the kids - especially Ashley - who will never get to play or perform with him again. It must be heart wrenching.

He will leave us but his music will live on for generations to come. As a child, we would travel true Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and his songs would come on the radio. Wichita Linemen, By the time I get to Phoenix, Galveston, etc. I would look out thru the vast desert during a beautiful Sunset. That was Glenn Campbell to me - America - Open West. There will never be one like him again. I am grateful he came to know the Lord.

He still got it =)

Godspeed, Mr. Campbell. I always enjoyed your music, and even your TV variety show back in the day. We’ll be praying for you.

I love Glen’s music as I was a teenager in the 60’s when he first got started. It is terrible to end his career like this.

But what I can’t understand is why his wife could not keep at home. They no doubt have plenty of money to care for him at home. My dad had this terrible disease and my mother would have never let him live in a care facility. My dad got to die at home in his room at the age of 79 with his family around him.

Jimmy Webb wrote some amazing sings - all those you mentioned - and so many more. Glenn was the perfect singer of JW’s songs.

Also, don’t forget Glenn was a VERY talented musician who played on countless sessions as a part of the “Wrecking Crew” led my the extraordinary Hal Blaine on drums.

Finally, he filled in for Brian Wilson on Beach Boys tours.

Glad he found Christ before it was too late...
