California Governor Jerry Brown released his state budget earlier this week and had some strong warnings about future cost impacts due to the effects of global warming.
According to some scientists, over the next couple of hundred years, sea levels could rise up to four feet and that will affect the airports in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as the nuclear plant in San Onofre.

LAX runways and tower are 125 feet above the sea level. And about 3000 feet back from the beach.
Hard to see what impact a 4 foot rise would have ... and that “potential” sea level rise “might” occur in 400 to 900 years. IF the West Antarctic Ice shelf melts at all! Last year in October, the sea ice surrounding that West Antarctic ice shelf set an all-time record high! (Just the “excess” antarctic sea ice on May8 was 97% the size of Greenland!)
not only that, there are bluffs and hills between the airport and the beach, so this is crazy crazy talk..

Maybe, but remember how the whole set up started. The good fighters got power which led to wealth which led to more power and they became the aristocracy. (Permanent power and wealth) If they ran short of wealth, they had the biggest stick with which to beat the peasants and take their wealth. This was given the pretty name 'tax'.
Tax never was fair and is not fair to this day. The biggest stick belongs to the government and laws prevent things from being otherwise. Your possessions of any sort belong to the government. People who worry, really worry, about 'fairness' don't get the point.
It's ONLY about the biggest stick. That's why liberals gravitate to government.
While he is at it, he should put some thought into protection from zombies, giant lizards, and an invasion from outer space. The State has done a pretty poor job of informing people of the dangers posed, and gathering public support for limiting their liberties in preparation. After all, there is a growing scientific consensus that at least one of these will befall the State in the next 100 years.
If this is going to happen in California just think about Hawaii. Wonder if they’ve told the people there that they are going to be underwater soon. But they need to make sure they don’t evacuate to Guam because with the addition of all those folks it will be sure to tip over.
OTOH, with BO moving back to Hawaii maybe they don’t have anything to worry about because we all know he can make the water recede.
Don’t worry Jerry, all of California will be destroyed by earthquakes caused by excessive CO2 seeping into the faults. You won’t have to worry about the airports then.
What will an airplane look like in 200 years? Will it need an airport? Will their be planes or supersonic trains?
Do they really expect LAX to there over the next 2 hundred years? We’ll all have flying cars by that time.
