A prankster is getting points for creativity after hacking an electronic traffic sign in San Francisco warning of a “Godzilla Attack.” The sign was spotted on Van Ness Avenue Wednesday night, reading ‘Godzilla Attack – Turn Back.”

That’s a good hack, actually. I read once...but don't know if it's true...that someone managed to hack the Rose Bowl's scoreboard (during the actual game of course) to read something like "MIT 20.7633476,Cal Tech 9 to the 18th power".

That’s what I was thinking too, so it’s not really called hacking then. It would be like calling someone that physically typed on your computer and changed your passwords, calling them a hacker. Hackers by definition work remotely.

I think that the larger display signs such as those that one sees as overhead signs on the freeway.. are likely controlled remotely.
the smaller signs such as those that are mounted on wheels would likely be controlled “locally:.
