As an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) poll revealed earlier this month demonstrated, anti-Semitism is a worldwide phenomenon.

And while a focus on anti-Semitism has cropped up in Europe and in the Middle East, at least one group of Jews in Guatemala were brave enough to speak of their own plight in the Central American press.

Over thirty Jews are being expelled from San Juan La Laguna, a small Guatemalan town—all at the express request of the locals. …

Just in casual chatting with people from Latin America, I am stunned by how deep and pervasive anti-Semitism seems to be there.

I’m just kind of surprised that there would even be 30 jews in a small Guatemalan town. Is Boca getting too crowded or what?

And they are very Catholic down there. Don’t they know that Vatican is against this crap? Do the local Bishops and Priests not spread the churches position on it?

I´ve been to San Juan on Lake Atitlan. I don´t believe this report AT ALL. Guatemalans are the most PRO Zion People in the Western Hemisphere, it was a Guatemalteca citizen who helped write the Balfour Declaration in the UN giving Statehood to Israel. Taint so. No one in San Juan is asking Jewish people to leave. Hell will freeze over before this happens.

Where are these poor people going? Not the USA I hope, which is developing it’s own European-style anti-Semitism due to the academia. I hope they all find safe haven in Israel.

Truthfully, I suggest they leave well before the deadline. In recent years, the Guatemalans at time have behaved in almost medieval fashion, with mobs hysterically lynching people after someone calls them a witch; and there were even incidents where American tourists were attacked because someone claimed they were there to steal babies.

There have even been regional fights in recent years between Catholics and Protestants. The place is unstable.

The two important things are that they were spontaneous, and they were deadly.

An individual, or even a small group of Jews could be set upon by a mob with little or no warning, and just as likely at noon in the marketplace as at night. The mob might go to their home and burn it down, killing anyone who flees the fire.

Fair warning. Get out now.

Currently suspended for some reason, there was a website called La Voz de Aztlan, that was just frothing with antisemitism. Delusional, paranoid ravings. Anti-Yankee, but they even made a lot of the middle east radical imams look saner on the subject of Jews.

And before answering any of those ads to move to Belize...

Guatemala has long laid claim to much if not all of Belize. They have maps showing it as part of their country. And whenever the latest tinpot government down there gets into trouble they start agitating the masses to go and retake their “stolen lands” to the East.

He allowed Himself to be killed. It was always the plan to die from the day he was born.

There’s a Nazi-esque social environment from our southern border down through South America. Has to do with religion and southern European culture.

it was a Guatemalteca citizen who helped write the Balfour Declaration in the UN giving Statehood to Israel.

The Balfour Declaration was adopted by the British government on November 2, 1917, decades before the UN or the current State of Israel existed.

I thought you guys were over that.

Anyway, neither of the two Herods was Jewish, nor Pilate.

The Herods were practicing Jews. Their family had converted in the 2nd century BC, when the Hasmoneans forced the Idumeans to convert.

Many if not most of the Jews did not accept them as Jews, to be sure, but that was pretty much a distortion of Jewish doctrine, which had generally accepted converts as Jews.

Such as: the vast mixed crowd at the Exodus, Zipporah, Rahab, Ruth, Uriah the Hittite, etc.
