If you think about, the homeless actually serve as the perfect scapegoat for a former American middle class slowly being driven into serfdom. Still completely mesmerized by the religion of consumerism, how is a population losing its freedom and financial well-being supposed to feel better about itself. The easy answer is to look at an even more destitute class and treat them like the “elites” treat everyone else. Like a superfluous and unfortunate outgrowth of humanity.

I’m glad to see the police are on top of this year long string of crimes.

"barring individuals from serving food in public"

Well, there goes tailgating at the Daytona 500. Or beach picnics. Or church socials. Or company picnics.

It may well be that attracting hundreds of derelicts to a public park may also attract crime, the way feeding pigeons attracts bird poop.

It’s coming to a point when we do not even know what laws we are violating out there.

Welcome to the land of the free...

It used to be that in order to be convicted of a crime you had to be in knowledge of the law and willfully violating it. But there are so many laws on the books that anyone at any given time is probably in violation of at least half dozen without even knowing it.

... The Crime Of Feeding Homeless People
No, the crime was individuals serving food in a public park - didn't matter if the recipients had a home or not.
If Chico and Debbie Jimenez feel the "calling," I suggest they open a homeless dining room - maybe in their own back yard.

That'll be $ 1,000.00 for a city food license and monthly inspections.

...yes, even if you're giving free meals to the needy.

Just like I said, fascism spreads. Despot Mike Bloomberg when he was in office would regularly have food donated to the homeless confiscated, and I said just watch: This is going to spread, and here we are - Now you get fined.

Yikes! That could have happened to me.

Years ago KFC had a deal that gave a huge bucket family meal for virtually the same price as a smaller meal. Since I just wanted one white meat piece for lunch I’d buy the whole family bucket (with to-go accoutrements). I’d ask them to put my one piece in a separate bag for my lunch. Then I dropped off the rest of it in a park nearby where I worked and were there were a lot of homeless people. I’d place the entire huge bag on a park bench and say Free Chicken! to those standing around.

There a many places the homeless can go for a meal. Don’t need to attract them to a park.

It’s like feeding stray cats or wildlife; they’ll come to expect it and bring their pals.

Why bother with logic and reason when self-righteous emotional reactions feel so good?

I would not want people feeding homeless people in my neighbor hood. I am if favor of helping the needy, but not this way. In my area we have plenty of non profits that feed the homeless in clean dining rooms. Feeding the homeless in parks is like feeding feral cats and pigeons. It is a mess and unsanitary.

Oh they will put a stop to that too.

There have been women stopped from feeding vagrants from their home because their kitchen wasn’t “up to code”.

They would rather people eat out of dumpsters than get a home-cooked meal, because it might have germs!

Sorry, this is all insane.

Soon, they will stop us from ever cooking for ourselves because our kitchens are too dirty and we can’t have any friends over for dinner thanks to that.
