The findings revealed that cat lovers scored significantly higher on intelligence tests compared to their dog-loving counterparts. However, dog owners tend to be more energetic, obedient and outgoing than cat lovers, according to Live Science.

Researcher Denise Guastello, a psychology professor at Carroll University, said at an annual Association for Psychological Science meeting in Chicago, that the average cat owner is more reserved, perceptive, tolerant and better at breaking rules than the average dog owner.

I understand what you’re saying, but I’m right the opposite; I love the dogs, but I have an all encompassing love for my cats. Especially Isis.

I went to visit a pet shelter one day, and they had a big outdoor pen with dozens of cats in it.
A young solid black female came up to me and put her little paw through the wire to me. It was instant love.

I took her home and named her Isis.
(She’s the big black cat with the pumpkin on my home page)

Isis is the most affectionate, loving cat I’ve ever had.
She sits by my side or in my lap while I watch TV.
She loves to ‘head but’ me gently and lick me. (ways a cat shows affection)
She brings me mice as ‘gifts’.
When I’m sick in bed, she will snuggle there with me, only getting up to eat and use her box.

Don’t anybody ever tell me cats can’t feel deep love for their masters.
I have living proof..and I love her more than any pet I have ever had.

Awwww, how sweet!

Yes, some cats can be very loving. I had one like that once and loved her back.

My current crop of 3 silver Persians are ‘nondemonstrative’. That’s what the book on breeds says about them - and it is spot on. I love them and admire them and especially love my little smart one. But they are VERY independent.

If we had one like yours, we probably wouldn’t have gotten the dog.

Because on a night like tonight when I’m in physical pain and cannot sleep, my kitty would keep me company, purr, and stay by my side.

My teddy bear is wonderful, I’ve had it since I was 4, but it’s not the same. There is something comforting about watching a cat sleep and purr.

I don’t feel like I’m the last person alive on the planet and lonely,

Our silver Chinchilla Persian, Angel, can be rather aloof- but her beauty makes up for it.
(She’s the same breed as the Fancy Feast cat in commercials)
She’s so fawned over by everyone who meets her, she thinks she’s the queen of Sheba. LOL

She can be really cute, though.
Before we had her spayed, one day she had come in season and was in the other room yowling.
I yelled at her, ‘Hey girl! You better stop that squalling!
Get in here!
She shut up and came into the room, sat down and just looked at me as to say, ‘alright alright already’. LOL
She would do this every time she started yowling and I yelled at her. No ‘Here kitty kitty’ necessary.

Pretty smart girl. She knew what I meant and knew that I meant it.

They are beautiful. That’s the breed we have - 2 chinchilla females and their shaded brother.

Needless to say, I can never wear black!!! LOL!

Very cute!

The purring is the best noise ever. It’s wonderful to drop off to sleep to it.

I love their ‘eye liner’. LOL. Also that they don’t have the smashed in bull dog faces of ordinary Persians. Easily the most beautiful of cats.

Yes their eyeliner and nose outline is phenomenal. I think they are the only Persians to have it. Looking at a white persian vs a light chinchilla, the white looks plain without her ‘makeup’.

They are supposed to have the smashed face look. The fancy feast cat would never win a show with her big nose, LOL! The polls must’ve shown people prefer normal cat faces so, the silvers in movies and commercials aren’t those that win ribbons. (not that I think ribbons matter)

I didn’t know that. Our Chinchilla has an ordinary cat face but with a shorter little nose. I don’t like the squashed in faces. Yes the eyeliner is adorable. Wish I was born with it so I didn’t have to put it on every day. LOL

I hear you can get your eye lids tattooed....;)

I think their liner looks very sexy! people that come over say how their eyes stand out, but nobody figures out why until I point out the liner.

My 3 run from an almost normal face to a smashed one. I prefer the normal face but like the little noses. My ourside cats now look like they have huge noses, to me. The flat faced fella is also huge with a ridiculous amount of shaded silver fur. So I guess it all goes together. He is a super sweet and mellow baby, so he is a gentle giant. The girls, however, are more lively. One is high strung and the other feisty.

Neat how with three siblings, they can be so different.

Oh..that has to smart.
I’m too chicken for that. :)

Most who meet our Chinchilla remark on her eyes right away, like, ‘Her eyes are so beautiful. Looks like she’s wearing eye makeup or eye liner’.

I think they’ve gone too far with the Persians with the extreme smashed in faces. Some of the less extreme aren’t too bad, but some seem to have almost no nose at all- just two nostrils. To me this is grotesque.
I’ve read that these poor kitties have breathing and other problems from this.

Nothing is more beautiful than a cat’s face just the way God designed it, anyway.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a cat with a really ugly face.

Just like bulldogs and other smushy-faced animals suffer from breathing issues too.

So sad that people have manipulated animals to the point of their having health issues.
