None of about 48 Guantanamo Bay detainees released or transferred elsewhere by the Obama administration has participated or been suspected of participating in subsequent "recidivist" activity, compared with 20 percent of about 540 detainees released by the George W. Bush administration, according to White House counterterrorism chief John O. Brennan

Oh, I think the President of the United States who experienced 9/11 in real time knows “sheer evil.” And what’s with the “average intelligence” bit? As compared to who? A man who just invited a jihadist to speak in the Rose Garden and was then surprised that it didn’t go down well? Or a guy who was serviced in the Oval Office and doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “is”?

I’m not an apologist for GWB but I don’t buy into clichés about him, either.

I’m talking about the guy who looked deep in Putin’s eyes and saw his soul. While we all knew who 0 was when he became president, Bush was wishing him the best. I said, “He doesn’t know evil until it flies some jests into some buildings.” That he’s a man of average intelligence should be pretty clear to anyone with average intelligence. This is my theory of why he doesn’t recognize Hussein’s evil.

He was never, ever going to criticize either Obama or Clinton. That’s not what the Bush family does. The Putin remark was ridiculous and I’m not defending it. I don’t defend any of his many mistakes. But you have absolutely no idea about his intelligence and it looks kind of stupid to insist that you do.

Yes...I was wondering the same about Bush...thinking he must not want to upset the One Worlders...Cheney on the other hand has been vocal.

One cannot be part of the odingo administration without being and avowed communist, islamist or sympathizer to either faction.

The reason Bush doesn't criticize is because the are comrades in expanding Statism.

I have no doubt, if by some miracle Cruz or Palin is President in 2017, the Bush family will not hesitate to criticize.

Bush released detainees who would have obviously passed their CSRT.
Obama released detainees who certainly would not have.

Your answer seems to be the best explanation so far, but the Libs will just say that it cannot be proved that they would of passed the CSRT. Or they will say, Why didn't he go through with the CSRT to make sure.

They'll always have some retort.

Bottom line: Bush released people of whom the left would say: "There was no hard evidence! It was all circumstantial!"

Whereas Obama has released self-admitted ranking members of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda hierarchy.

We did release a lot in the early years, mainly because there were a lot who weren't the "worst of the worst" like the ones Obama inherited. Besides, I don't believe that none of the recently release folks haven't rejoined the fight... we just haven't re-captured/killed them.

A friend of mine ran the place for a year (during GWB's term). There are some really, really evil people in that place.
