Rush Limbaugh show yesterday between 1:15 - 1:40 CST yesterday

I caught Rush's show yesterday for a few minutes and I'm not sure if he was reading an article from realclearpolitics or if he was on an extended rant, but it was absolutely brilliant. He was talking about the Republican party being driven by big business and not being receptive to the conservative base. He mentioned Brit Hume's whining about the Cantor loss.

Does anyone know if this was an article he was reading, and, if so, have a link to the article?

He bounced off of a Sean Trende article on Real Clear Politics for a while….comparing Cantor’s loss to Graham’s win. I think what you are referring to is part of this - in context of the bigger immigration debates ,etc.

I also heard Brit Hume’s spontaneous denigration over the parsing of what the meaning of “Amnesty” is. It was right after the AP declared the call for Brat, and Fox gathered 4 big weights to analyze it.

Brit was visibly and near verbally agitated that conservatives just can understand what the establishment Republicans want isn’t dictionary definition “Amnesty.”

Laura Ingram put him in his place with some very succinct words [paraphrasing] “What they want is to devise some measure to keep criminals who are here illegally and have our laws in this country.” It doesn’t matter what you call it: legalization, normalization, path-to-whatever. It is still selectively pardoning criminals for crimes committed solely because of Democrat votes and Republican big business.

What Rush was proving is that the US, while still a Republic in name is really an Oligarchy, a govt of the very rich and powerful, by the very rich and powerful, and by the very rich and powerful.

It does look like that's what he did. This was one of the parts that I was trying to find:

First, analysts need to understand that the Republican base is furious with the Republican establishment, especially over the Bush years. From the point of view of conservatives I’ve spoken with, the early- to mid-2000s look like this: Voters gave Republicans control of Congress and the presidency for the longest stretch since the 1920s.

And what do Republicans have to show for it? Temporary tax cuts, No Child Left Behind, the Medicare prescription drug benefit, a new Cabinet department, increased federal spending, TARP, and repeated attempts at immigration reform. Basically, despite a historic opportunity to shrink government, almost everything that the GOP establishment achieved during that time moved the needle leftward on domestic policy. Probably the only unambiguous win for conservatives were the Roberts and Alito appointments to the Supreme Court; the former is viewed with suspicion today while the latter only came about after the base revolted against Harriet Miers.

The icing on the cake for conservatives is that these moves were justified through an argument that they were necessary to continue to win elections and take issues off the table for Democrats. Instead, Bush’s presidency was followed in 2008 by the most liberal Democratic presidency since Lyndon Johnson, accompanied by sizable Democratic House and Senate majorities.

Rush was also great talking about the party being beholden to big business. I wish he posted transcripts.

Yeah, they figure that the “do it for the children” DREAM sham will be the proverbial camel’s nose in the tent. I don’t care if you’re a kid and your family has been here illegally for 15 years. Those kids should take it up with their law-breaking parents. All illegals should go home and can attempt to become citizens through the legal process.

Hume made those comments during a live segment of the Megyn Kelly program. She was questioning a panel, which included Hume.

The ‘children’ aspect of all this is a craftily calculated maneuver designed to give gutless Republicans some measure of cover. “For the children”. In reality, the ones here are criminals just like their parents, even though they didn’t ‘intend’ to come here. That Marine rotting in a Mexican prison never ‘intended’ to enter Mexico with his legally possessed weapons.

Further, these ‘children’ who are flooding our borders are nothing more that choreographed sappers who are the equivalent of saboteurs with ‘social grenades.’

They are put her to inundate and overwhelm our social and entitlement resources. There are TWO things that will happen because of them being here. They will either become Democrat voters and entrench themselves into our entitlement system, or they will soldiers in MS-13 or the Reconquista Army.

There are absolutely no “acts of love” here. It is destruction pure and simple.

Listening to what Hume said, I couldn't help but think, "You, too?"

I'd always thought Hume was one of the good ones, but then I barely ever watch tv news, so maybe he's not what I thought he was.

Note too how our King Canute is following the first point to the letter....he is kowtowing (obviously not against his core principles) to the far left of his party as that is their base: the fags, the feminists, the eco terrorists, the minorities, and anti capitalists.

Well, there’s a lot of degrees of amnesty definition out there. Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter are very hard core, and yet, the say all the time “no one is serioiusly suggesting we can deport 11 million” and so on, (they give several reasons for this) - and yet, many of their followers, are suggesting just that.

Then there’s the pathway to citizenship crowd on the other other extreme…and Brit somewhere in the middle, and trying to stake out a common ground.
