"A kayaker in Upstate New York was hospitalized after being attacked by a beaver in Irondequoit Creek last week. Michael Cavanaugh was knocked into the water when the beaver jumped out of the creek and started mauling him, biting him on his back and arm. "I heard my name called out from the shop and I ran out the door to see a guy getting pulled into the water," a trainer at BayCreek Paddling Center tells WHAM. "It was like watching a horror film." Cavanaugh was able to get to the dock, but the beaver wouldn't let go, so the trainer started hitting him with a paddle until the paddle broke and the beaver finally retreated."

I think Mrs. Cleaver would be concerned that the trainer was being too hard on the beav.

The treatment is very painful ...
IIRC, they updated the treatment(s) many years ago, to be no worse than a flu shot.

Dirtiest thing said on TV in the 50’s.

Wow. Story a year or 2 ago about a beaver getting a loggers leg and shook it. Poor logger ended up bleeding to death.

Then there’s the story about a drunk sailor at the bar with a girl, and he thought, well you know, it turned out to be something else when he went exploring. Strange things happen in the animal world.

not far from me - the creek is not particularly wide - mostly 20-30ft ...its a feeder to Irondequoit bay and is North flowing like the Large Genesee in nearby Rochester
both are know for nasty beavers in kayaks ;)
I worked at a County park about 25 miles south of there as a teen...the same creek flowed through that park - we'd see lake run salmon & trout run that far in during the spring runs
all the beavers in the park were extremely hot in the summer....many driving around girls gone wild style

Poor little Beaver. He’s probably just told his mom he killed a kayaker. She told him to wait until his father gets home!
