T-Mobile’s CEO: AT&T and Verizon Are ‘Raping You’

Just the latest in John Legere's history of madcap soundbites

T-Mobile CEO John Legere is hardly known for speaking delicately, but his most recent outburst, at a Wednesday press event, might take the proverbial profanity cake.

Business Insider reports that Legere had harsh words for competitors AT&T and Verizon. “These high and mighty duopolists that are raping you for every penny you have,” he said. “The f—ers hate you.”

ATT is raping me...but Tmobile makes sure you can’t call anyone afterwards.

ATT = $120 a month plus taxes, fees etc. for a Samsung Galaxy with limited minutes and data.

Metro PCS (owned by T-Mobile) same phone flat rate no hidden fees and unlimited usage $60 a month

Guess which one I picked?

actually T-moble has great service...both voice and data.

plus the have one extra no one else has that is fantastic if you travel..build in Internet wifi calling..no matter where you are in the world..if you get your phone on the Internet it will tunnel a link back to the Tmoble network in the US..and you have all services voice and text as if you were on the tmo net in the US..no extra cost...I was all over the world last year and would call and text to home all the time with no worries and no cost.

Fyi I work in computer network and telcom

I know about Verizon DSL, which is all we can get in this area.

If you have this service, you pay for prehistoric “speed” which goes out for an average of two days whenever it rains. That means a call to a Verizon robot in India, which entails about 45 minutes or more on hold, and then the robot will insist that your problem must be a modem which needs to be turned off & on, no matter how many times you’ve called before with the same problem. The robot will keep you on the phone for roughly an hour, getting all of your information wrong, telling you he can’t find you in the records, and having to take you through it all again, until you end up going nuclear on him.

Any and every question you ask will be met with “Stay with me” and being put on hold. Seriously, EVERY question. After this happens six or seven times, he will come back, you will tell him not to put you on hold again, and he will hang up on you.

Then you will look at the card in your hand, the one the last repairman gave you-—the one who said everything was fixed for good!-—and you will see the words “Providing Excellent Customer Service.” You will either dissolve into tears or hysterical laughter, and what comes out of your mouth would guarantee a zot.

Been using T-Mobile for ten years now and have no complaints about service. Two lines, unlimited everything, for $55/mo per line. No contract. Daughter has been using ever since they were VoiceStream.

The Richard-Simmons-lookalike followed up his statement by offering "I'd take you out to dinner first. And I'd respect you in the morning!"

I’ve had T-Mobile for years, and love it!

We have had TM since 2004 and have never had problems with them at all. Have had them while traveling cross country and the service was great.

We have a great plan and great price, too. Three of us, unlimited minutes, texts and data and we pay a total of $110 per month. Divided by three people, not too bad.

The only place I have no signal is our cabin in the Boston mountains where no one gets a signal. The 4G works as good as the DSL in town.

I didn’t have a signal in a remote cabin in the Ozarks, but neither did my wife on her work iPhone.

I’ve used all four, but we stuck with T-Mobile. Coverage where I live is horrible with all 4 services, luckily T-Mobile WiFi calling works well. Also free local service is included when I’m out of the country.

We just got rid of DirecTV and use Roku to watch T.V. We also use Ooma for our home phone. When my cell phone contract runs out, I’m switching over to pre paid cards.

Now, if I can only find a way to get cheap internet, I’ll be happy.

T-Mobile should call themselves T-City. They don’t work 1 foot outside the cities.

About the same area. Rugged, low population and few towers. I like it that way.

I avoid cities and don’t have a problem. I can drive from eastern Missouri to Denver and have coverage most of the way. Now if I take the back road from Oakley Kansas to Colorado Springs I will lose it. I don’t know about the western slope, so your mileage may vary.

If that’s the case, then T-Mobile coverage has improved significantly. I live in Denver.

Ugh. The mods have been incredibly liberal with the ban hammer as of late.

I pay Verizon over $300/month (5 phones).

And my voicemail can only hold about 5 messages before it’s “full.”

W.T.F. !!!!
