Bradshaw on Peyton: If you like losing Super Bowls, he’s your guy
NBC Sports ^ | June 19, 2014 | Michael David Smith

Former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw says current Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is great — as long as you stop watching after the regular season ends.

Bradshaw said during his his one-man show, America’s Favorite Dumb Blonde, that he views Manning as a regular-season star and a playoff choker.

“Peyton Manning, considered the best quarterback to play the game today. Nobody would argue with that — if you like winning good during the season and losing Super Bowls, that’s your guy,” Bradshaw said, via PFT Commenter.

Bradshaw is your typical sports announcer PC liberal. He has to be if he wants to keep his job. With that said, I don’t put too much stock in what he says about anything.

Might be, but the fact is that Peyton doesn't play well in big games!

Maybe the fact is that playing the best teams you need to have a running game, which Peyton's team ignore since Peyton is the star.

Elway didn't win his Super Bowls, until Denver got a 1st rate running game.

Considering his position as a studio analyst, it was.

Look we are not talking about a guy who does color commentary or play by play during the game.

Bradshaw is a studio voice for Fox’s NFL studio show.

For him, that is uncalled for.If I were Peyton, I would never do another Fox interview until he personalty apologized.

You never would have heard those words come from NFL voices in the past.

Low, very low Terry.

And a first rate defense doesn’t hurt either. I would think that Mr. Bradshaw would not have been to any championship games if not for the Steel Curtain.

Great pic.
Truly a stand-up guy.
I’m not a Colts fan, but Mannning is a class act.

It is a cheap shot. Which doesn’t make it false.

PC, I agree. He didn’t have much good to say about Hillary on Fox the other day though and he is qualified to speak on football being a 4time super bowl champ in 6 yrs. A feat still not bested.

It memory serves, Tom Brady has lost more Super Bowls than Payton Manning. So why isn’t Brady “your guy”, dumbass?

Yes, you need a running game and a good defense to actually win the Super Bowl. Problem is, Peyton Manning commands an enormous salary. With that amount of money going to Manning, his teams don’t actually have the room under the cap to build a decent team around him.

It seems to be the case league wide. Brady won his Super Bowls before he got his truly big money. The Steelers won a couple of Super Bowls before Roethlisberger got paid. The Giants did not win Super Bowls after Eli Manning got the money. The Ravens haven’t won since the gave Flacco the big bucks. It may not be a hard and fast rule, but it sure seems that having a big money QB is not necessarily the best way to build a Super Bowl winner.

Worst touchdown pass–interception ratio, season in modern era: 1:4 (6 TDs, 24 INTs), Terry Bradshaw, 1970

Didn’t Bradshaw also agree that the Redskins’ name SHOULD be changed? What happened to him?

I like Manning, but come on.....he’s 11-12 in his playoff history. He’s been knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, what, like 6 times ? He’s not in my top 5 of all time. Montana, Brady, Elway, Star & Young in any order you want.

Probably because Brady has also won 3 to Manning’s 1. If a QB wins 1 people can always say it was a fluke. Winning multiples kind of silences that kind of talk.

They’ve both lost 2. But there’s a lot of difference between being 1-2 and 3-2. 3 rings puts Brady in rarefied air, not many QB get that many. And 5 total trips even with 2 loses is also a rare feat.
