ood trucks in 7 cities performed better than or the same as restaurants on food safety inspection reports
Grabbing your lunch from a food truck may be a safer option than sitting down at a restaurant, according to a new study.
After examining over 260,000 food inspection reports, researchers from a public law interest firm in Virginia found that in each of the seven examined citiesBoston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Miami, Seattle and Washington, D.C.food trucks performed better than or as well as restaurants.

I never eat at Chinese Restaurants , I had a job delivering Produce and I have see the Kitchen Area
Fewer places for rats and bugs to hide. Plus when the truck moves, it scares them off.
Some Chinese don’t believe in refrigeration. Ever see the raw, unrefrigerated chickens hanging in the window in shops and restaurants in Chinatown?
I guess the roaches find room; ergo, "roach coaches."
I wouldn’t eat anywhere including my own house, that’s why I......................................................
Chicken?! Aren’t those ducks?
Hot food is always OK. I eat off of grills or trucks in Mexico when I go there, and I’ve never had a problem. The food has to be hot and just cooked and served in paper or on a tray.
Also, spices (curry, chile, lime juice and even salt) are very present in instant food - that is, food truck food - and these are big bacteria killers.
NYC is fine...just don’t eat the hot dogs in the tepid grey water...
Would being owner operated be a factor also?
The British used to hang their chickens and game until it was blue...meaning nearly rotted. But they liked the flavor, and cooking it sufficiently meant that there wouldn’t be any unfortunate results.
I take the same approach when eating at street vendors - especially outside the U.S. Freshly cooked hot food, served on paper or disposable plates and silverware if at all possible (just in case the dishwasher didn’t do his job, or the local wash water isn’t all that safe).
This is not news!
Restaurants stuff all kinds of non-food crap into their food, but food trucks just cook up good stuff without all that crap.
.
have you ever seen a roach on a “roach coach?”
Probably not, huh?
Ever wonder why?
That sewer is a 5 gallon bucket that drywall mud came in think about that for a minute
Really? We're discussing food and you reference the British?
But they dump it every day.
Restaurants employ people who should not be handling food. You can watch your food being prepared in a food truck, so it’s safer.
I can’t remember seeing a roach on a “roach coach” and yes, I wonder why?
