Postiga off early. Portugal down to its number three striker.

We look good and the impact-subs will be something to watch out for later on in the game.

That first goal sucked, but overall, we look much better than we did vs. Ghana. Some great runs and opportunities so far. I like this Zusi guy.

I think we are the better team since the goal. Here’s hoping they capitalize

Damn. Another close call from Dempsey. He's a great player. The dam has to break. Portugal looks pretty weak. My only concern is bringing too many people up, and a quick counter-offensive goal from Portugal.

Ugh. And Bradley just missed again...

I give raspberries to the people earlier in the thread with the paint drying comments. I am a screaming mess right now!

At least we seem to have some possession now, unlike the early minutes..

If the goal were 3 by 10 yds, the U.S would be up 4-1 ;)

No kidding. The way they’re playing, we could pull this thing off. I have the volume up on the TV to help muffle my yelling

So true, excepting that last shot they’re shots are either a foot high or wide of the goal.

60% Portugal, 40% USA, I guess that’s about right.

We’ve had good attacks, we’ve had yes, about 5 fairly good shots on goal it seems.

question: is a tie considered a loss? Is this double elimination?

Wow! Save of the tournament, so far. If we can hang on until halftime, we have a good shot at a draw or win.

“question: is a tie considered a loss? Is this double elimination?”

Win, 3 points

Draw, 1 point

Loss, 0 Points,

We are in a Round Robin with 3 other teams, Germany, Ghana and Portugal. So, it’s a bit like an NFL division, we just need to finish in 1st or 2nd in the group.

Full Table here, we are in group G.

http://us.soccerway.com/international/world/world-cup/2014-brazil/group-stage/r16351/

After tonight, there is one game left, Wednesday it will be played I believe.
