Another familiar Hollywood face bid farewell late Saturday -- actor Meshach Taylor. He died at age 67 at his Los Angeles area home, his agent Dede Binder said.
Many may remember him from "Designing Women," where he played assistant Anthony Bouvier.

He didn’t get to collect very much Social Security ....
The name didn’t ring a bell, but as soon as I saw his photo, I knew who it was. He was one of those character actors who makes other people look good. They didn’t name his illness, but that’s not necessarily our business.
He was hilarious on that show. The best thing in it, in fact.
Diagnosed with terminal cancer only a month ago. Sad.
That is sad. I loved Anthony’s character. That show was very funny.
His best episode was the one where he claimed to be part of Charlene’s very large family and named them all. I can’t find the video so will someone put it up, please?
He was always humiliated by these women as I recall. And his shocked outrage at how they dragged him into awful situations was very funny. I think they once forced him to pretend that he was a woman which enabled this very funny man to go hog wild. RIP, Mr. Taylor.
Someone on Facebook thinks it’s Rip Taylor!
I loved him in Mannequin.
Sorry to hear that. RIP.
Here was one of his best scenes on “Designing Women” with the great Alice Ghostley...

That's what makes a great character actor and straight man.
He was great on “Dave’s World”.
Lord, let him have surrendered himself to You before his last breath.
My mother and sisters loved that show. I sat down with them once and thought “This makes little sense and it’s not funny (ditto with ‘Golden Girls’).” Recently, I heard the show mainly appealed to older women and homosexual men. That explained a lot.
I don’t think I’ve seen Designing Women more than once but his face is very familiar to me. RIP.
RIP, Mr. Taylor. Married to the same woman for 31 years. Thats 217 years in Hollywood years.
Hated that show - but he was the best part of it.
