A Saudi man set precedence in the Gulf Kingdom’s conservative society when he sought his wife’s written opinion whether she would let him marry again. But her response carried an implicit threat to her husband.
In a letter he left her at home, the husband told his wife that he intends to marry again on the grounds Islam permits men to have four wives at a time.
A copy of the letter published by Sada newspaper showed the man marked two answers at the bottom “I agree and I don’t agree.”
It showed the wife not only answered “I don’t agree” but added a threatening phrase saying :”try and you will see.”
Sada said the letter was circulated on social networks but did not mention where in Saudi Arabia the couple lives.
That’s probably why Islam says if he gives the first wife a house, he has to give the second wife a house. They then don’t share the same house.

Much easier to deal with when you can legally beat them to death.
Also illustrates the wisdom of apologizing afterward rather than asking permission first.
My experience was so long ago, it probably doesn't jibe with today's youth. But a respectful daughter, in most cases, depends on having an active father in the home who expects, teaches, models and if necessary demands respect for himself and his wife. Likewise, male children need a father in order to learn respect for adults.

American men have been dealing with it for a long time. They just call the earlier wife "the ex".
I think it would only be workable if you were wealthy enough to provide each wife with her own apartment, so they wouldn't have to interact.
