Former U.S. president George W. Bush recently opened the doors to his gorgeous Texas ranch to reveal rooms where he once hosted world leaders and where he now bides his time painting them.
Bush gave a tour of the Crawford home he completed just after becoming the nation's 43rd president in 2001 to Architectural Digest for the magazine's August cover story.
It's a rare glimpse at the sprawling property where Vladimir Putin once rode shotgun in Bush's pickup and where the younger of W.'s twins, Jenna, held her intimate 2008 wedding.
George and Laura Bush have retired to Dallas, Texas since the president's eight years in the White House, but spend considerable time in the tiny prairie town of Crawford at the so-called Prairie Chapel Ranch.
'We wanted the house to fit into the landscape,' the former first lady told AD.

Bush's Western White House revealed: George W. opens the doors to his Texas ranch where Jenna was wed and where he now seeks artistic inspiration
Looking forward to seeing his portrait of cindy sheehan.
Set up bunks for the kids coming across the border on his ok; Obama’s Hyde Park mansion, too.
Way more “green” than Algore’s place.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
Who gives a Rats ass. Just another political elite that wants to destroy America for the rest of us.
Lovely house. I love the floor to ceiling windows.
Nice place. I bet with all that glass, it's hard to keep cool in a Texas Summer. He can afford the AC bills, though. :-)
..I visited Ronald Reagan’s ranch—I don’t need to see anything else...
I am amazed ranches even started around there. This is the most rock infested soil I have every seen. Every year more rocks ascent from below.
I spent some time outside the gate of Bush’s Ranch, I got to see were farmers had plowed, and over the years had stacked rocks into walls.
But what is amazing is that there are twice as many rocks showing in the plowed ground just waiting to be added to a wall.
Good. Move the illegals there.
GW Bush ranch photos from over the years;
From Waco west it gets rockier with every mile. The ranches in the west had to be huge because it takes 100 acres or more to feed one cow. Down closer to the Texas Gulf Coast , in a good year, you can have one cow to 6 acres.
The Bush’s ranch is only 1600 acres, that is not very big if you are actually going to raise cattle. But I don’t think that was George Bush’s plan.
