Muslim eateries are not allowed to sell food to Muslims before 3pm during the fasting month.
It is not reasonable for Muslims to buy meals before 3pm unless they are not fasting, said Minister in the Prime Ministers Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, adding that the respective state religious councils have the power to enforce this prohibition.
It will be too rigid a move if we stop them from opening shop (at any time).
(But) we have to enforce this rule (of no sales before 3pm) so as not to encourage people to skip their fast, Jamil Khir told reporters at the Putrajaya Hospital here yesterday.
Jamil Khir had earlier handed aid from the Federal Territories Islamic Affairs Council to several hospitals for the purchase of medical equipment for the needy at a ceremony here.
Muslims in Malaysia started their 30-day dawn-to-dusk fast on June 29, to mark the Muslim month of Ramadan before ushering the festive Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
It was reported earlier that Muslim eateries that sell food to Muslims before iftar (the meal at sunset to break the fast) are liable to be compounded up to RM300 and their equipment seized.
That particular religion would be well advised to drop the fasting and maybe concentrate on non-violence and respect for human rights.
sunset at 3 PM ?
Any pics of our president eating before sundown in the last week?
Just asking...
It could be sunset in Malaysia.
.
And this from a “moderate” muslim country.
I guess you can buy at 3:00 PM and take it home to cook, as long as you do not eat anything before sunset. But illegal to sell to Muslims, but OK to sell to Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists before 3:00 PM, how do you police that?
“...But illegal to sell to Muslims, but OK to sell to Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists before 3:00 PM, how do you police that?”
This would be easy in Mosul and the rest of ISIS occupied Iraq, since any Christian or other non-Muslim who hasn’t managed to get out of there has already been slaughtered.
Why should we care about Muslim laws in Malaysia?
Now if this was the USA I would say that shops should be free to sell (or not sell) whatever they want, whenever they want, to whom ever they want.
But over there? Who cares?
Christians should not buy halal foods because it is offered as sacrifice to a strange god.
