Boehner rebuffs Palin on Obama impeachment call, sticks with lawsuit
Fox News ^ | 7-11-2014 | Mike Emanuel

Boehner's response to Palin's call reflects concerns about the tricky politics behind impeachment proceedings, and Republicans' own record of going down that road in the past.

New York Democratic Rep. Steve Israel said Boehner is right to stand his ground. "On this, I happen to agree with Speaker Boehner, that we should not be spending our time or wasting our money pursuing the impeachment of this president," Israel told Fox News in an interview.

Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann says the House should consider impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson for not fully enforcing the nation's immigration laws, and suggested that might stop Obama's overreach.

"I'm not advocating that we impeach the president right now," Bachmann told Fox News. "I'm saying that what we need to do is defund selective portions of the Executive Branch, and impeach certain officials in the Executive Branch."

Remember the cartoon Ricochet Rabbit? That's what we should call the GOP because they are bouncing around faster than we can follow.

Boner knows that Obama can stretch out a lawsuit for years and that is why he is pushing that idea.

For once Boehner is right. Wait until after November elections before impeachment.

Why give the Dims an issue for bringing out the vote.

If we win the Senate and can get a 2/3's majority...then impeach the worm.

Bachmann sure shut up after she asked questions about Obama’s meetings with the muslim brotherhood.

This administration has the goods, real or imagined, if it wants, on each and every American.

It would be easier for Congress to Officially Declare War against Mexico, then when Barry refuses to send the Military to the Border they will have grounds to Impeach, that cannot be argued against.

Impeachment would cut into both Boehner and Obama’s golf game.

Actually, impeachment does not make a lot of sense unless there is at least a chance of conviction in the Senate. And there is absolutely ZERO chance this Senate would convict Obama, no matter what the charges. Hell, he could be filmed handing over America’s highest classified secrets to al-Queda and the Reid-controlled Senate would not convict him. There is absolutely nothing Obama would or could do for which a Reid-controlled Senate would convict him.

The lawsuit is a bad idea and could lead to a very bad precedent.

Mark Levin said that Boner’s lawsuit will probably get thrown out of court because Boner does not have standing. Boner does not represent congress. He represents one half of congress. Levin predicts the judge will say “you have other options available, like the power of the purse strings.” After Boner’s lawsuit gets tossed out 0bama will be crowing and ramming it down Boner’s throat.

Boehner is the complicit enabler of Obama and has
destroyed the USA for his, and his family’s EXEMPTION.

I think the word is out to the GOP. If we want to impeach the SOB, shut up until the November elections are over...and then let's see if we can muster a 2/3's Senate majority for impeachment.

I have great respect for Palin but wonder what's the heck she is doing here.

That said, she might be playing the role of foil for the GOP.

She brings up the issue of impeachment so they can shoot it down...thereby denying the Dims of the opportunity of using it as a means of mustering votes and cash.

Right.

House impeachment is only an indictment.

Removal from office takes a 2/3's vote by the Senate.

If, for agument’s sake impeachment were to occur, the very first task of the investigation should be to ascertain exactly who this “obama” guy really is. To get at the meat you first have to crack the nut.

The problem with Obama is I think the reality of his radical leftism has hit him square in the face and he doesn’t want to come to terms with it, admit it doesn’t work.. So now he is in that void where he just doesn’t give a damn anymore. He doesn’t want to come to terms with it , admit he is wrong so he does all this crap like go on a million vacations, hang out at bars, all this escapism crap. What he needs to do is be a man, fire the Iranian terrorist Valerie Jarrett, and turn Spock - make logic his religion. But he will never do that #1 Because he doesn’t have the brains for it and #2. He thinks the illogic of radical leftism will somehow work, but it never will because it’s illogical. This is why he needs to be impeached. We are riding on a ship with no Captain.

Do you actually imagine Boehner is waiting until after the Nov. elections to do something? Once the election in Nov. is over, they will say we can’t do anything to endanger the 2016 election. After Nov. 2016 they will say it is too late, Obama is out of office anyway. They will always have an excuse to avoid carrying out their responsibility.

Impeachment is the duty of the House. I wonder what would happen in this country if everyone was so determined to wait for the next guy to do his duty before doing theirs.
