CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Cornhole, the strange-sounding game made popular in backyards and at football tailgate parties, is taking on a serious side this week.

The American Cornhole Organization will crown its world champions as about 380 competitors from 17 states vie for $10,000 in prize money in singles and doubles events.

"When you're out there throwing, it's serious," Smith said. "And then as soon as it's over, it's time to buy somebody a beer."

I date a man who lives in the Hinterlands of Wisconsin. He invited me to a family gathering and on the invitation it said, ‘Cornhole Games for the Kids!’

And I’m like, WTF? WHAT are you inviting me to?

Life is strange and wonderful, down in The Holler! LOL!

I heard my first "Cornhole" joke in the Navy, lo those many years ago - I know, surprise . . .

A few months ago, I was on a business trip to Davenport, Iowa and there was a sports bar next to the Hampton Inn with guys out there pitching bags into a slanted board with a hole in it - I wondered what they called the game but since there were young fella's playing with their baseball caps on backwards and drinking cheap beer, I decided to pass on going over to ask. Not only that, but there were no women playing . . not interested . .

That song you get scrolling down to the bottom of the page is hilarious! It is almost like normal country folks are making fun of the homo crowd . . . and having a blast living up to caricature country bumpkin stereotypes in the process!

One of the bars downtown has a coin-op cornhole video game called ‘Bags’ and when I saw it I jokingly wondered to myself if you played it by moving the barflys around on virtual barstools or whatever...

Clear the area of any debris that might ruin your bags, particularly dog poop!

LOL!

It’s actually a fun game. There are portable sets great for bbq’s, etc. unfortunate name. I prefer washers, but not as prevalent or easy to set up.

We need a picture of Ned Beatty being told, “I wanna hear you squeal like a pig”.

Nobody ever wants to join “The Prison Leagues.”

I just played a pretty awesome game the other day at an outdoor BBQ. Fun times, but it really is more enjoyed with beer.

I guess that’s true of any sport/game, though...
