I suspect there’s more afoot here, btw. Were I the guy, I would at least contemplate the possibility that the missus might be one or more of the following: A) Frigid. B) Gay. C) Sleeping with somebody else.

She says "Our lives have been crazy busy,' she wrote. 'We spent all spring renovating our new house. At my job I was given nearly double my usual workload after some of my colleagues were laid off. I gained some weight in the winter and have been busting my a** at the gym to get rid of it"

That's a big clue. She's keeping herself in shape for someone else. Given a choice, most husbands would prefer frequent sex with a chubby wife over no sex with slim wife. And I would not be surprised if he "working late due to increased workload" was a lie.

It's time for him to leave. Create a bank account in his name only, put all his paycheck in that, stop paying for house expenses (you know she's going to get the house regardless), and file for divorce.

As a disclaimer, I realize this doesn't apply to everyone, cause there are always going to be people who will never be satisfied no matter what you do for them.....

You bring up a good point. IF he's ignoring her except for sex, she's not going to be terribly accommodating. She's going to perceive it that he's not interested in her for anything but what she can do for him and no woman wants to feel like she's being used, especially by her own husband.

That couple could use some good marriage counseling.

If he were my age I would say grab a six-pack and forget about it, but at age 26 he will need more than that. He should try some wine, roses, or maybe a Dillard’s card to get her warmed up. If that doesn’t work there is always a lawyer looking for work, and a woman with a libido, or who could use a Benjamin, out there somewhere.

I don’t think she has a lover. I do not know what is wrong with US women. They marry, cut their hair, gain twenty pounds and shut off the sex.

Women tell me that they just don’t like sex. They are nuts and don’t take the time to learn and enjoy it. our culture tells us that they don’t have to enjoy, just accommodate, and only when they want to.

My lovely young married daughter seems to epitomize some of these narcissistic female issues. We are not close. The other day she stopped by with the husband, a nice guy. The first thing out of her mouth when she walked in the door was: Hi Mom, who is that hunk mowing your lawn? Her husband pretended not to hear. She was so rude and I was embarrassed for him.

I looked at her and thought of how angry she would have been if he commented on a lovely young woman mowing the lawn. My daughter is the pinnacle of femininity and beauty, but she acts like a rude truck driver. She didn’t get that here, for all you scolds. She was raised by her father for 8 years after I had her. And she swims in the common culture.

US women need to get over themselves.

Look at it from his perspective. He could spend a while trying to get her warmed up and then he gets shot down... or he could just ask and get shot down right away. Saves time.

Why does he have to do all the work? He has to work hard to get her fired up, then he had to do a larger share of the physical work (in some standard in face configurations). Why? Shouldn't she actually put in some effort? Sorry ladies, but if you shot a man down 9 times out of time he is not going to see foreplay as a worthwhile investment. Put out even when you are not that interested and he will be more interested in listening to your needs. He just does not care that much about your needs when his aren't even close to being met. In the grand scheme of things YOUR needs are a lot more work than his. So have some perspective. It is well documented that the less sex women get they less they want. So denying him to hold out for more attention is a losing proposition.

They've been married two years, together for five, no kids. My advice to the guy is get a divorce.

I've been married 25+ years. It's difficult to "woo" a woman who constantly points out your flaws, whether it be "putting her on a pedestal", helping around the house, spending time with the kids, etc. All the while, her check is her money, my check is "our money." I also understand that I'm not the easy guy to live with.

I still love her, and we do have our moments. There are so many joys in my life, and understand the grass is always greener on the other side.
