Gig Harbor, Washington. -- In the Pacific Northwest, we live among behemoths snowcapped volcanoes, towering trees, great splashing salmon and lattes as big as a childs head. Yet one of the regions undeniably superlative titans has slipped beneath everyones radar.

Enough to give any self-respecting dog a nervous breakdown. Flea on the right is an ordinary flea removed from a house cat. Flea on the left was removed from a beaver as mentioned in the article...

Flea infestations in Seattle are nearly life threatening. Death by itch!
Same can be said of the mosquitoes. They sound like a 747 when circling and one has to consume iron-rich food after being "tapped" by either.

Giant Beaver Fleas... no way FReepers will hijack this thread.

Seems logical to me.
If there are Jumbo Shrimp, why not Giant Fleas?

I can honestly say that never occurred to me, but I should have known.
To: Tijeras_Slim
I knew a guy who caught crabs from a beaver at an Oklahoma bar. Another man caught something worse.

Got fleas? Here is a simple flea trap.
Get a sheet of glue sheet as sold by Tomcat for catching mice and bugs. Remove the was cover paper.
Bend a piece of wide mesh wire cloth so it fits over the glue trap, with a two inch leg on each side. I use 2x4 welded wire fencing.
Take a night light, preferably a 7 watt one with a BULB, the cover removed, and place it on top of the wire screen. Keep the room in the dark for a few days.
The fleas are attracted to the light and fall through the mesh onto the glue board.
Another way is to plug the night light into an outlet off the floor. Pace two glue traps underneath, side by side. The fleas will jump toward the light, and fall onto the glue board.
These work wonders to catch fleas, bugs and other things that crawl in the dark. Better than any spray out on the market. I’ve cleaned up many a flea and bug infestations with several such traps.

Giant fleas? Send them to Washington DC, with specific instructions to infest Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hitlery Clinton and Barack Obama, and not necessarily in that order!

Today one can also get a pet, or borrow a pet that has been treated for fleas with that stuff you put on the back of their necks, by walking around, they attract them and kill them.
