The controversial death of a New York City man who was placed in a chokehold by police was formally ruled a homicide Friday, a move that will almost certainly place the officers in front of a grand jury and heighten tensions between residents and the police department, city officials and policing experts said.

Eric Garner, 43, died after being placed in a chokehold that caused him to suffer neck and chest compressions during his arrest two weeks ago in the Tompkinsville section of Staten Island, according to findings released by the New York City medical examiner’s office. Garner’s weight, chronic asthma and cardiovascular disease were listed as contributing factors.

concerned about our neighborhoods turning back into hellholes with wolf packs raping up the Upper East Side

Again, it's not the issue here GD it.

We're talking about this event, not some violent atrocities as you implied and attempted to insert into this.

And I don't GAD how old you are.

But I’m glad all of you freepers out there in rural and suburban land are so supportive of our left-wing mayor who is so upset about this tragedy that he brought in your beloved Al Sharpton to bla bla...

BTW, you have no clue what I support or where I might live. More BS from you.

All this Sharpton BS is BS....Tell someone else about your race industry pimp problems, as it has zip to do with this or what I am telling you or what occurred here in this incident...You're kicking up the dust of deceit here...

I'll bet that you god "d's" in "plays well with others" in grade school....you have answered her several times in this conversation with answers that border on inane...You seem unable to answer her statements with cogent arguements to back your point of view. There were "inner city trash "in Milwaukee when I was a kid in the 1940's and there still are. They have done nothing in 70 years to advance their status in society, they still vote for the democrats who put them there in the first place, and frankly I am tired of supporting them while they make no attempt at all to get out of the situation that they are in....generation after generation, and SINGLE MOTHERHOOD is the cause of 90% of their problems....no responsible males in the entire community.

I think you mean "arguments". Last checked statements are not questions and do not require answers BTW.

The poster was being deceptive, evasive and wandered completely off subject, similar to the diatribe you are presenting here.

Ya see I was referring to this violent event which resulted in the death of this guy for something very minor and pretty much insignificant.

The clear issue here is how law enforcement responded and the end result. Get it?

In addition, Milwaukee and motherhood have nothing, zip to do with this event, or my comments and questions to the poster you are apparently attempting to defend.

Cheers..

Nope....not intentional for sure..

I suppose it could be called negligence or negligent homicide.

from what I saw, the cop who put his arm around his neck was about half his size and the hold was too low on the neck to be used safely as a restraint hold.

Must have either crushed the larynx or completely blocked the arteries in the neck....

But it was not all his fault.

After he lost consciousness, they did nothing, nor did the medics.

yup, if the guy had simply gone with them and let his lawyer do his job he's still be alive also... but the whole thing is a bit much for $.50 in taxed
