Sergeant Reunited With Military Contract Dog
NBC San Diego ^ | Aug 2, 2014 | Bridget Naso and Monica Garske

The pair served side-by-side in Afghanistan for seven months as an IED detection team

Smiling from ear-to-ear, a U.S. military sergeant was reunited with his four-legged best friend Friday: a contract dog that served side-by-side with him in Afghanistan.

It is estimated that dogs like Belle save the lives of up to 200 troops during their service.

Organizations like the American Humane Association and Mission K-9 Rescue help connect these dogs with service members through generous donations.

I can’t believe some would leave this dogs behind. I wonder if some of our troubles are cause because peoples’ hearts have grown so hard that they don’t even recognize what the right thing to do is. I know several people on other threads complained and said that there are bigger things that we need to be focused on, but my expereinces is that if you don’t do the right in the small things what makes you think you will do right in the big things?

” if you don’t do the right in the small things what makes you think you will do right in the big things?’

You are absolutely right.

That’s how Rudy Giuliani reduced crime in NYC — no crime is too small to ignore, the “broken glass theory”.

As for military, unfortunately, even though they may be more responsible than the average person, the total lack of any sense of responsibility is pervasive everywhere.

” I know several people on other threads complained and said that there are bigger things that we need to be focused on,”

Those are heartless people and are using that just as an excuse.

Besides, one can be concerned and working on multiple issues at the same time.

The reason I personally have particular concern for animals is because they don’t have free choice, they are totally dependent on the good will of people — while people are able to make choices and make changes for themselves.
