Woman put out fires on three separate occasions to keep her family safe
But a brave mother didnt let a string of fires in her house get in the way of saving her family. In each of the trio of contained blazes on three separate conditions, the mother knocked down sudden fires in her home to keep her family safe without any disregard for her own safety.
Umm Rashid, a 49-year Emarati mother, said fighting fire came naturally as a mother.
She said the first incident took place when the gas stove was engulfed in smoke and fire. It was a terrible sight; for a moment I paused because I didnt know where to start from, then I rapidly took a piece of cloth and wet it with water and covered the gas stove with it until the fire was put out. In a second incident, her daughter was standing near the gas stove in the kitchen when her veil burst into flames. The mother removed the veil quickly and calmed her daughter and instructed her to stop while she helped put out the flames on the rest of her clothing.
A third incident happened when a fire broke out at a water pump at the house. She cut off the power of her house and then put out yet another fire.
Umm Rashid advised everyone, including mothers, not to fear fighting fires that might occur in their homes as well as not to neglect the cooking stove.
She cautioned people to be aware of potential risks of fires.
Colonel Nasser Rashid Al Zari, Head of Media and Public Relations Department at Ajman Civil Defence, praised the efforts and courage of Umm Rashid in fighting the fires.
He appealed to people to take precautions with electrical appliances and cooking utensils, which can pose a threat to life and property, and make sure of the connection of electrical cords and cables and not to overload them.
Fire extinguishers should also be installed in every home and people should learn how to use them.
You would think it would be easier if the husband just divorced her.
More cement plants are needed, and regulations in developed countries that prohibit compressed earth blocks should be removed. Other restricted and non-approved materials and methods can also be used to make residential buildings more fire resistant. The building code rackets are corrupted by special interests and must be broken.
Many of the approved appliances use more current than necessary and are more dangerous because of that. 1 hp, AC well pumps routinely used for most water wells is one example. Electric and gas clothes dryers are another example.
I'm glad she made sure she would be able to survive to continue to protect her family before she rescued them...
/ mean comment, lol!
Civilization is a good thing...UAE should try it.
First time you’re a hero, 3rd time an arsonist.
